De Lima’s ex-security aide testifies to romantic relationship between her, Dayan

Senator Leila de Lima’s former close-in security aide on Thursday divulged details about the rumored romantic relationship between her and her erstwhile driver, Ronnie Dayan, and testified about the existence of their alleged sex video.
Presidential Security Group (PSG) member Joenel Sanchez read his affidavit attesting to the supposed special relationship between De Lima and Dayan during the resumption of the House justice committee’s probe regarding the drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison.
De Lima and Dayan are tagged as among the key personalities involved in the drug trade inside the national penitentiary.
In his affidavit, Sanchez said De Lima and Dayan were so close to each other that the latter regularly stayed over at the senator’s house, and they even slept in one room during their out-of-town trips.
"Madalas din kaming pumunta sa bahay ni SOJ De Lima sa Bicol at kapansin-pansin ang sweetness nila. Habang kami ay bumabiyahe papuntang probinsiya sila po ay nagsusubuan ng nilagang saging saba,” he said.
Sanchez also claimed that De Lima bought Dayan personal items, liquor and cigarettes on a regular basis.
Sometime in 2012, Sanchez said he was approached by De Lima’s driver, a certain “Bantam,” who in turn showed him Dayan’s phone containing his and De Lima’s two alleged sex videos.
Although he described the contents of the video in graphic detail, Sanchez said he didn’t finish watching the footage.
“Naging biruan na lang namin ang nasabing video,” he said.
Sometime in 2015, Sanchez said Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) rider Warren Cristobal was added to De Lima’s security detail. He said Dayan got jealous of Cristobal until the former was fired by the then-justice secretary.
Following Dayan’s removal from De Lima’s security detail, Sanchez claimed to have noticed the closeness between the senator and Cristobal.
“Kapansin-pansin din ang closeness ni Warren Cristobal at SOJ kung kaya't nagdududa na kami na may special na relasyon ang dalawa,” he said.
In his affidavit, Sanchez admitted to receiving P15,000 three times from Reynante Diaz, the talent manager of NBP inmate Herbert Colanggo.
Colanggo previously testified to giving De Lima millions in drug payoff to finance her senatorial bid.
Sanchez said he had asked money from Diaz for his birthday, Christmas and “for the boys.”
The PSG member said he was fired by De Lima from her security detail in May last year because he sought help from Oriental Mindoro Rep. Alfonso Umali Jr. for his sick father. —KG, GMA News
