House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez on Sunday night said Vice President Leni Robredo was "fired" from President Rodrigo Duterte's Cabinet.
"Considering the situation, I think she is FIRED," Alvarez said in a text message.
The House Speaker sent the message after Robredo announced that she was resigning from the Cabinet of Duterte as chair of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council.
Robredo said that she made the decision after receiving text from Cabinet Secretary Jun Evasco Jr. that President Rodrigo Duterte wanted her to "desist from attending all Cabinet meetings starting Monday, December 5."
The Vice President said she will be tendering her resignation on Monday.
Evasco said in a radio interview that Duterte and Robredo have irreconcilable differences. —report from Xianne Arcangel/ALG, GMA News
