Contreras: Politicians in affairs would've been shamed in other nations, but De Lima broadcasts hers

De La Salle's University's professor of Political Science Antonio Contreras in his facebook account said that it would've been such a shame in other nations had a politician admitted an affair with a married person, but here in the Philippines, Senator Leila de Lima even "maligns" her country.

The post was in reaction to the Senator saying that the war on drugs by President Rodrigo Duterte is turning out to be a war against the poor.

De Lima is a known opponent of the President, even arranging a senate hearing and presenting a witness against him.

The senator, thrown accusations from her opponents, has been linked to her former driver and bodyguard, Ronnie Dayan, to whom she admitted having aan affair with.

Contreras said that in the United States, such a senator would have resigned from office.

He stated that in Japan, the politician would have commited suicide and she would have been subjected to honor killings in parts of India and Pakistan.

"But this woman is so shameless that she even goes around the world maligning her country" he wrote.

De Lima has been gathering international attention and even won an award for "going against" Duterte.

Till present, she refuses to resign from her position.

In the US, any politician who admitted having an affair with her married driver would have resigned and retired from politics.

In Japan, she would even have committed honor suicide.

In some parts of India and Pakistan, she would have been subjected to honor killings by her own kin.

But this woman is so shameless that she even goes around the world maligning her country.
