MANILA, Philippines – Two female drug mules have come out to reveal the operation of the West African Drug Syndicate or WADS.

"Sheryl" (not her real name) was forced to join the syndicate because she wanted to find out what happened to her brother. Her sibling was earlier recruited by a Filipina friend in Macau to work in Indonesia.

She said her brother did not know that the work entailed smuggling drugs into another country.

Sheryl followed her brother to Indonesia only to find out that her sibling is detained in China.

She immediately went to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to ask for help to arrest members of the syndicate who victimized her brother.

She decided to enter the syndicate to find out more about their operation. Her first mission was to smuggle drugs into Indonesia.

From South America ipapasok ko na ngyon dito ulit sa Indonesia," she said.

Sheryl said she discovered the modus operandi of the group when she was deployed to Brazil to get the supposed garments.

She succeeded in bringing the drugs into Brazil. Embry)

Like Sheryl, Elsa was not caught for drug smuggling. Her task was to get cocaine from Brazil and smuggle it into the Philippines.

Elsa said she was paid a lot to smuggle the drugs placed inside canned goods.
"Four thousand US dollars po," she said.

Watch the second part of Sheryl and Elsa’s experiences as drug mules or WADS on TV Patrol on Thursday. The report will also disclose how Pinay drug mules are also raped by syndicate members. TV Patrol

MANILA, Philippines – Filipinas are not only serving as drug mules to the West African Drug Syndicate (WADS) in the country.

There are some who fall for the empty promises of WADS members and eventually become their girlfriends, while others who cannot protect themselves are raped.
These were disclosed by 2 drug mules "Sheryl" and "Elsa" (not their real names) during their continued revelations about the operation of the drug syndicate on TV Patrol. (Related story: 2 drug mules reveal African drug syndicate operation)
Pag natutulog ako may katabing kutsilyo," Sheryl said.

Many of those who were swayed by the promises and sweet talks of members of the syndicate end up getting pregnant.

Sheryl joined the syndicate to help her brother who was victimized by the group. Her brother is now detained in China.

"Naging positive po lahat yung pinagpaguran ko. So from death row, we’re hoping this year or early next year makakauwi na siya," she said.

Her effort paid off as she was able to send to jail some Nigerian WADS members operating in the country and in Asia.

Puro Nigerians," she said.

Sheryl also disclosed that drugs from South America are easily smuggled into the country.

"Kasi po dito sa Pilipinas, hindi naman po kailangang halughugin ang gamit ng kababayan natin," she said.

They also found out from one of the suspects they have arrested that there is a warehouse in Quezon City for drugs coming in from South America.

MANILA, Philippines – Some members of the West African Drug Syndicate (WADS) pretend to be students to able to operate in the country.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) records stated that since 2010 to the first quarter of 2011, there are 1,276 Nigerians currently in the country. Of the total, 55 are students.

BI Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. said they will thoroughly sift through the list, particularly foreigners who are in the country as students, to determine who are involved in the drug syndicates.

At 'yun nga, kung itinuturo silang kasama sa syndicate, then we'll provide our law enforcement agencies such as the NBI (National Bureau of Immigration), PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency), nung mga records of these individuals," said David.

Meanwhile, "Sheryl" believed that the lives of the 3 executed Filipinos in China could have been saved if their last operation had pushed through.

"May operation supposed to be po kami na papasok ng Guangzhou, China. Ang problema, from Manila to Guangzhou...ang sabi namin kung ito--bago mabitay ang tatlo--nag go ito, probably nai-bargain natin 'yung buhay nung tatlo. Kaya laking hinayang po namin at hindi namin nai-push through 'yung project po namin," Sheryl said.

Sheryl is a drug mule working with PDEA to end the operation of drug syndicates operating in the country and victimizing Filipinos.

When asked if she stopped being a drug mule, Sheryl said, "Sa ngayon po hindi pa sa kagustuhan kong mabuwag ang sindikato."

She said that they don’t get much support from the current PDEA administration. "How many times ko pong in-attempt. Ang sabi po, ‘no go’ muna," she said.

Sheryl’s brother is also in jail in China for a similar offense. Her brother was initially sentenced to death. But because of her efforts that led to the arrest of many syndicate members, her brother’s sentence was commuted.

For its part, PDEA denied that Sheryl approached them. The agency, however, promised to investigate who rejected her appeal for help.
"Ipapa-check namin kung totoo iyan. After this, kokontakin namin siya at will assure them that we will act on this. Tutulungan namin siya," said Director Rene Orbe, PDEA’s Deputy Director General for Administration.

Sheryl also disclosed that she received information that the Pinay who recruited her is now living in the lap of luxury abroad.
