President Rodrigo Duterte went beast mode Thursday night as he ripped Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV to shreds in a brief but precise tirade at the former Magdalo leader. Duterte surprisingly went with the script all the away and avoided making off the cuff rants and curses.
Trillanes dug out his old claim against Duterte made during the last leg of the 2016 presidential campaign that the President and his family – his three children and second wife – had amassed P2.4 billion in unexplained wealth from 2006 to 2015 in undisclosed bank accounts and properties.
But instead of a sawed off shotgun to get back at Trillanes, Duterte brought a sniper rifle as his weapon of choice o target the senator’s weak spots one by one. Ouch.
Here are the President’s “hugot lines” that we think are all killshots:
1) COWARD
“May mutiny-mutiny ka pa, wala ka naman palang b**** tapos taas kaagad ang kamay pagdating ng pulis. Nakakahiya ka sa totoo lang.”

“I would advise Trillanes to go to court and file the proper case against me and advise him further to stop opening his mouth when he has nothing to say anyway.”

4) LAME DUCK, NO CAREER
“Trillanes is on his last term and would have no nothing to lose if he would resign from office, which explains his penchant for all this daring President to resign.”
“He actually has no political career after his term in office expires in less than two years.”

“It is known in the Senate that Trillanes uses his office to ask for retainers and that this has become a lucrative business for him.”

“This just shows his ignorance with regards to the [unclear] banking business, the people who have personal businesses.”

“He must also have forgotten that my daughter Sara is a lawyer by profession and that she earns from this and that and she has clients who actually pay for her services and not from illegal retainers which Trillanes is so used to doing.”
