Someday you will realize that you share the same virtues and mindset with the corrupt ruling class who will not spend money and blood for the interests of their alipin class today as in the past. the indio and mestizo ruling class were gobernadorcillos (petty governors/tax collectors) throughout the Spanish period and have been writing laws for the poor Filipinos since 1907 as lawmakers, 9 years after the US took over from Spain. The Philippines has been independent since 1946, 66 years ago, and the best they can do for the slum dwellers today is to hide the slums with painted canvas whenever important foreigners come. every election year the slum dwellers receive a bag of rice and a few pesos from the vote-buying corrupt billionaire rulers and you want the OFs and OFWs looking in from the outside to blame the spaniards and americans for their actions?
Stop blaming foreigners and ask the corrupt rulers why they divide the people's tax monies among themselves with no laws to require any accounting for it, and why the laws allow them to keep secret peso and dollar accounts in local banks to hide their plunder from the poor, and why social activists get murdered or disappear and no one in government cares. Blame the CIA???
