Please allow me to say these few words:
If I were Quiambao or Esguerra or Paras, I would continue with what I am doing! Never mind if wrong, malicious, evil, against what is right and just, or in direct violation of the newly-ratified KOR Constitution and By-Laws! Why? Because only 4-5 openly complained! Those 5 are not the KOR! We are the KOR! We are the honorable men. They are not! Who are they in the hierarchy? They are nobodys, small fry, not high enough! They can do no harm! They don't promulgate policies and decisions! Besides, any investigation called for by Sir Hilario Davide, Jr. would take months! And he is leaving for N.Y. soon! And we have compadres and padrinos all over the place! ...high, powerful and mighty ones! Plus, we have the numerical superiority! It's our Ol' Boys Club! We feel OK and very comfortable here! No one can run us out of this KOR! We run the show! Not those 5 urchins (apologies to sea urchins!)! No one takes them seriously anyway! Just ignore them and whatever they say! If they are right, why is there no public uproar? Not even one Chapter Commander voiced anything openly, against us! We are the real untouchables! To hell with those 5 from Europe ! And, by the time a decision is made, Paras would have sat a whole term! The show must go on!
Fact: We complain about corruption, but we do nothing or little, if at all! We complain about rising criminality, but do nothing to help the police! We see muggers punching and kicking a stranger, we continue walking straight! We see a holdup and look somewhere else! We see kids ganging up on another kid and think only of getting to work without delay! We see trouble and think it's NONE of our business!
Question: Are we living on the same planet? Yes!
Hence, like "The Inconvenient Truth" that Al Gore propagates worldwide, we have no choice but to get involved. How, is your decision or own call. The KOR is a family. If we all keep mum while evil is creeping upon us, evil will smother the KOR family! That's us!
KOR medals nor titles/rank are not necessary to prove my point. But I would like to help overhaul a cumbersome, corrupt part of the system in the KOR. While I'm in it. It is pretentious to "fight against injustice" when injustice is upon us and we chose inaction!
Dr Jose Rizal was a reformist. If he were alive, he would still be fighting for reforms! He couldn't stand INACTION!

As former bank auditor, with simple beginnings, I matured in my conviction that one has to respect others, if one wants to be respected in return. In the course of time, as I noticed that corruption breeds more of the same, my conviction changed. Now I say: He who is corrupt deserves no respect!
