Disasters & Humanitrian Aid: PHILIPPINES

I urge all of my friends and encourage you to request your friends to make donations, even small ones, to OFFICIAL RELIEF agencies and NGOs located in your own country with the Philippine tropical storm(s) victims specified as recipients. I have done so to the Red Cross in Japan. You can donate clothing and other items.

It seems the after-effects will take a massive toll on survivors, thus the crisis has only begun for humanitarian assistance on an immediate, larger scale.

Do NOT make donations for aid directly to INDIVIDUAL Filipino persons that are close to you. Unfortunately, the requests for more money don't stop regardless of verifiable needs and, subsequent requests for more, verge on harassment.

I made that mistake once! The policy advocated by all social networks in never to send assistance to INDIVIDUALS.

Also, please consider other aid areas in critical need at present that may be closer to your interests & concerns are: Samoa and Indonesia.

Respectfully submitted to raise our level of consciousness and response to urgent humanitarian aid,

Michael
