What's Samuel Samuela In KOR For?

Lazir's questions:

1. How can a KOR member feel proud of a Supreme Pursuivant Samuel Samuela who committed intellectual dishonesty, by one-sidedly persecuting some and ignoring his more abusive Bosses in the persons of Quiambao and Esguerra, who both brought real SHAME upon this once-illustrious KOR? Quiambao brought a FAKE Paras up to KGOR and helped him become European Regional Commander, RY 2006-2008, despite the fact that Paras is intellectually bankrupt on Rizalism! Quiambao and Esguerra reportedly caused the resignations of many really illustrious KOR members: Dr Sir Fritz Hack-Ullmer, great grandson of Dr Rizal's bosom friend, Pastor Karl Ullmer: as well as Sir Ernest Blumentritt, grandson of Ferdinand Blumentritt, who returned his KOR uniform and medals in disgust!

2. How can Samuel Samuela feel proud pretending to be a good Rizalist when he cannot even right the wrong he did, persecuting a non-existent KOR member "Moreno", when it is his job as KOR Supreme Pursuivant to attend to the membership list? If Samuela is in-charge of the KOR membership list and cannot keep track of his records, how inutile is his "efficiency"?

Now that he is designated "Chairman of the Legal Committee" of the KOR, can he now do his job well, when a non-lawyer Lazir could put well-founded and valid charges left and right, but Samuela couldn't respond, from the knowledge that his (Samuela's) arguments cannot hold water?

Now, if Samuela could help put a Guansing in Europe, plus keep plagiarist Paras in the background, would the three of them now rebutt Lazir's valid accusations? Dr Jose Rizal would quickly reply, intelligently and more intellectually superior than his accusers, knowing fully well that he (Dr Rizal) was a man of unquestioned integrity/character!

3. How can Quiambao, Samuela, Paras and Guansing take the MORAL HIGH GROUND when they have squandered all their reserves (on character, integrity) the moment they committed Abuses that Lazir has enumerated time and time again, and these were left unanswered by them, particularly lawyers Quiambao and Samuela!

If lawyers trained in LOGIC like Quiambao and Samuela cannot rebutt Lazir, how can character-deficient Paras rebutt Lazir on Rizalism?

4. How can one who is ignorant of RA 646 proudly go home and tell stories to his own family that he's doing "great" work at KOR as its Supreme Pursuivant? For every great work done by able Dr Sir Pablo Trillana III, he will suffer a setback, because he is practically DRAGGING the weights put up by pretense and incompetence that his IHQ colleagues Quiambao & Samuela collected!

5. How can Quiambao, Esguerra, Samuela, Paras and Guansing, TEACH the Philippine Youth Character, Integrity, Honesty, when they themselves DO NOT PRACTICE, WALK THEIR TALK? Their trinkets of heavy metal awards, ranks and high positions CANNOT do the Teaching! Just like in common legal knowledge, what is NOT THERE, cannot be used as instrument of Teaching! A hole is just like what it is, A HOLE, empty and hollow, right?

6. How can Samuela show credibility in his legal work as Legal Committee chairman when he found great haste to investigate a reporter Lazir (factually reporting about KOR Abuses), but not a Paras who was an identified Plagiarist, the voluminous documentary evidence thereabout reached the hands of then honorable Sir Davide, who promptly ordered Paras to "explain"!

Clearly, Samuela is not the intellectually IMPARTIAL jurist that he might claim to be, but one who is hell-bent on persecution, particularly upon Moreno, for some questionable charges that Samuela NOW couldn't anymore legally claim to be proper, correct and right!

7. How can Samuela be a credible Legal Committee chairman when he didn't bother to even investigate the Missing approx. Euro 5,000 donated by Mushake sometime in RY 1999-2000 where Quiambao was Supreme Commander? While Samuela investigated Moreno because of invented KOR Manual violations, here is a RA 646, Sec 7 (or Sec 8?) Violation on missing funds that Samuela is silent about!

Samuela RESIGN, because Impartiality seems to be not your strength, but your Waterloo!

Let's Walk the Talk and do more, while keeping our BP low...

for country and people!

Catholic schools up in arms over SC plagiarism incident

MANILA, Philippines - Different law schools and private institutions across the country are now up in arms over a recent Supreme Court (SC) decision that, they said, changed the definition of plagiarism supposedly to exonerate a member.

In different strongly-worded statements posted in broadsheet newspapers Philippine Star and Philippine Daily Inquirer on Tuesday, the schools also gave their support to their colleagues at the University of the Philippines College of Law who first lambasted the high court for handling the plagiarism issue.

The new De La Salle College of Law, led by Dean Jose Manuel Diokno, said “we do not want intellectually dishonest lawyers because we know how easily they can succumb to graver forms of corruption. But all our efforts will be in vain if the highest court tolerates the practice.”

The high court earlier cleared Associate Justice Mariano del Castillo of accusations that he supposedly plagiarized foreign authors’ works in a ponencia regarding the case of comfort women.

In a 25-page decision, the high court adopted the findings of an ethics committee, saying del Castillo is not guilty of misconduct and gross inexcusable negligence.

It said del Castillo did not try to pass off the works of the legal experts as his own. It described the issue “a case of bad footnoting.”

The same decision also admonished the UP law professors for urging Del Castillo to resign while the case was pending.

CEAP: Plagiarism a moral issue

In a separate statement, the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) said plagiarism is not a legal issue alone, but first and foremost a “moral one.”

“The highest tribunal has set a higher threshold for plagiarism to be made punishable, and so may in fact abet plagiarism,” it said.

It also said the decision encourages “a culture of intellectual sloth and dishonesty.”

CEAP is the largest association of Catholic schools, colleges and universities in the country with 1,290 members.

In another statement, the Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA) said “to treat plagiarism in a cavalier fashion is to fling the door wide open to flagrant violations against intellectual property and invite intellectual thefts without fear of punitive sanction.”

It said it distorts the idea that the Higher Education Institution is the “cradle of original ideas.”

As anchored on the findings of Associate Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, who mentioned 19 separate acts of plagiarism in del Castillo’s ponencia, La Salle said the latter is thus an act of plagiarism.

“By the Court’s standard, it is not. What standard should we now apply to our law students, the country’s future lawyers,” it stressed.

By the high court’s new definition, plagiarism now “presupposes intent and a deliberate, conscious effort to steal another’s work…”

La Salle said “for us, plagiarism caused by negligence or recklessness is still plagiarism.”

The schools also asked the high court to exonerate the UP professors.

“[They] deserve praise, not censure, for publicly criticizing the SC,” La Salle said.

It's a simple case of delicadeza. An honorable person, not least an SC justice, if he still has honor left in him, would have resigned immediately after all the accusations surfaced. The "Honorable" Justice Castillo doesn't have to make his researcher the escapegoat of this moral travesty. Plagiarism is not only cheating but a form of intellectual thievery. No wonder the magistrates exonerated their peer, the Chief Justice is a product of political thievery during the previous administration. Like a thief in the night, Renato Corona became Thief Justice with an appointment from the then Thief Executive, the unglorious bastard GMA. Imagine the three branches of government run and headed by thieves, especially the Supreme Court. What a shame our nation has become.

It's because they act and feel they are above the law.

It's a simple case. There is a law against plagiarism. But these justices who exonerated del Castillo, act and feel they are above the law.

This Supreme Court has lost any honor it had left.
