Looking back at the Adam Carolla issue, I realized that the reason he said “Filipinos, get your ___ together!” was that some Filipinos wrote online messages or said something somewhere insulting Mayweather. All Mayweather did was ask for a blood test on Pacquiao as a condition to agree to fight. When Pacquiao refused, Mayweather withdrew. Recently, news went around that some people once close to Pacquiao said that he was taking shabu before he became famous. Mayweather probably got wind of this, and decided to test it to be sure. What’s wrong with confirming a suspicion? And also, Pacquiao should have agreed to a blood test. He was acting like a sissy by saying he’ll go weak by giving blood. He could have dispelled suspicions.
OK, we never got wind of any insults to Pacquiao from the Mayweather camp or from Mayweather fans. But even if there were, they never reached the attention of Filipinos, not a single thing on national TV. In other words, American fans didn’t raise hell. But once the reaction to Adam Carolla’s own “insults” came out, Filipinos raised hell. But in tracing the cause, one can end up with Filipino Pacquiao fans who insulted Mayweather and Americans.
In other words, Filipinos started it.
Wait. Not Filipinos… some Filipinos only. Some, not all. Namely, idiotic Filipino Pacquiao fans. Only the idiotic ones. Not all. I’m sure there are Filipino Pacquiao fans with a more reasonable view of the Mayweather affair. Maybe here was Adam’s mistake; only a few Filipinos acted, and he reacted to Filipinos in general. But he was close. Pacquiao fans, at least some of them, were really acting sub-humanly, and they dragged their country down with them.

It was even possible that these Filipinos were insulting black boxers, black people and Americans in general. Carolla responded accordingly with his radio show. Those Filipino fans shouldn’t deny that they started it; it’s obvious! Carolla and the caller were only reacting!
I myself would consider Pacquiao admirable because he won bout after bout in his career. Sure, he has his slips ups, like running in the elections… and refusing the blood test maybe. But the problem is his fans. These fans who mouthed out the insults that Carolla reacted to… they acted like the most sub-human creatures that are more disgusting than cockroaches and of so inferior intelligence that even the lowest animal is millions of times more intelligent.
National pride was insulted daw. But what happened here was not national pride; it was national arrogance! Filipinos insulted someone in the most reprehensible ways for his merely refusing to fight their champion. And they got the reaction they deserved.
The Adam Carolla issue again showed the problems of our damaged culture. The problem is that Filipinos prefer to front other Filipinos who are more successful, like Pacquiao, and ride on the fame of this person in order to boast to other nationalities. In the end, they demonstrate the “ride on” habit of Filipino culture. Their insecurity is so great, and yet they refuse to get their own act together, so they rely on others to improve their image for them. Some Filipinos like to ride on some else’s salary so they can be free to get drunk at the sari-sari store each night; others like to ride on someone else’s fame to try and make themselves famous! Such pathetic solutions to insecurity and inferiority complex.
A summary of the event: Filipinos… oops, I mean some idiotic Filipinos who are Pacquiao fans… insult someone who refused to fight their “national hero,” which shouldn’t be a big issue. A commenter reacted to them, saying that they should get their act together (along with some other jokes that obviously were negligible). Then these Filipino fans react back, saying that their nation was insulted by this commenter, and they want to hang this commenter’s head, even if the issue was in fact their fault!
Filipinos like to raise hell for the smallest things other nationalities raise about us. Chip Tsao called us a nation of servants – which we are! The Greek Dictionary defined a Filipino as a “domestic helper” – which most OFWs tended to be then! The Filipinos chocolate bar was even hounded by some of our people for purportedly being an insult or a ” copyright infringement” of sorts. Well we have local brands using “American,” “Liberty” and names like that, and America does not complain! And like in Adam Carolla’s case, even when they’re the ones at fault, they pass the blame to the actual offended party! They will rape a girl and will even say that it’s the girl’s fault she got raped!
In the end, our nation has once again carved a notch in the hall of shame, with Filipinos raising hell over a criticism of them which is actually a result of their own actions! But this is not all Filipinos who made this shame. It was only a certain few: some Pinoy Pacquiao fans who are stupid and idiotic. The idiocy of a few helped bring down their entire country. On the account of the mistake of some, many have to suffer.
So whose fault is it? The stupid, idiotic ones among the Filipino Pacquiao fans.
I think these particular idiotic Filipino Pacquiao fans should be fried in their own lard.

I’m a filipino, and I certainly agree with the views of this post. I’m a filipino, and live in the Philippines. There are just people that easily get carried away by their arrogance and other people’s success, we tend to forget ourselves to be humble until something self pitying happens to us and then goes the realization.

I heard that some Filipinos who posted rude comments on Adam’s page didn’t even know why they were doing it. Somebody just told them that he said racist comments about the Phils. How typical of them to overeact.

There seems to be something wrong with a psyche that makes us so vulnerable to getting upset or offended so easily. Filipinos get offended so easily from a perceived indiscretion and are often unable to move on to something bigger or higher than such trivial pursuits. We tend to be consumed with words that should mean nothing to us if they were untrue. “

Pacquiao did good as a boxer, yes. In making our country known… wait, unknown pala ang country natin before Pacquiao came out. Kala ko si Pres. Marcos is the one making our country known. haha. Anyway, Pacquiao did good, but his fans did bad. Di kasalanan ni Pacquiao, it’s the fans who act like wild animals. Mayweather, alam ko ugali nun, pero even he does not deserve wild animal commenters from our country insulting him. Eh di ang napatunayan, katulad tayo ni Mayweather.
So ‘wag ipilit that our culture sucks… thing is, pag nakita mo ‘day, pangit talaga eh. So ano, i-deny nalang? And if this is not the way to change what is? Leave the country? Open naman ako sa suggestion mo. ;)

I accept the apology… my apologies too if I didn’t get my point across that well… I used ‘day kasi parang generic term sa kin to use for Filipinas, hehe… On other countries na buwaya, that is true, kaya 3rd world or developing countries ang tawag sa mga yan… sadly kasama Pilipinas diyan. Problem is when some Filipinos ay nagpapataas ng ihi sa mga other developed countries, kaya di magandang tingnan. Either Perlas or Gordon ako… pero the final choice will be on the “secret” ballot. :D

Know what, isa ito sa pinakaayoko sa mga ugali ng mga Pilipino. Pag pinuna mo at sinabihang napakacorrupt ng government ng Pilipinas, marumi and Pinas, unruly ang mga tao ang palagi kong naririnig na defense ay “Bakit, tayo lang ba ang bansang marumi? tingnan mo ang (insert country here), mas corrupt naman. Di naman tayo ang pinaka corrupt na gobyerno sa mundo..etc.etc.”. Have we really set the bar that low? That instead of looking into the problem, we have to point out the countries that are worst than ours? It seems that for majority, it makes us a whole lotta better because other countries are more corrupt, chaotic than us. Although in a sense it does make us less worse (better doesn’t even fit here), it does not help solve the problems or address them even. Okay nalang ang ganitong way of life tutal mas may worse naman kaysa sa atin? Very backward talaga. We would never go anywhere with this mentality.
Common misconception ng mga Pinoy is that because one is not from Pinas, spell foreigners, he/she doesn’t know anything about Filipinos or the Philippines. you’d be surprised how much foreigners actually know about the Philippines and it’s people- beyond the beautiful beaches and so-called hospitable people. Hell, even here in sleepy Orem a lot of my colleagues are concerned that a convicted plunderer in Pinas is still running for office, and the presidency at that!
Our country was already known before Pacquaio, tho he also did lots to make us even more known but respected Pinas just becoz of Pacquiao? Nah. They respect Pacquiao, fo sho, but that doesn’t translate as respect for whole Pilipinas. Here’s where we differ with the progressive nations. they do not necessarily see an achievement of just one person as an achievement of the whole nation. It had always been what we can contribute as a people, as a nation. We just think we are respected because Pacquiao is one of sports greatest but they don’t see it as that. They see Pacquiao as an individual and his achievements as his own.
Ika nga ng mga writers dito, Pinoys just love to bask in reflected glory. Wala kasing maipakita as a katilingban kaya nakikisawsaw nalang.

If Manny refuses to abide by Mayweather’s demand, that’s his prerogative, not yours to question. I hope I did state my speculations in a way that shows that they are speculations. Feel free to dismiss my speculations at will. Perhaps Pacquiao’s response to Carolla shows that he is not “on drugs” as these critics suspect, as it was a level-headed and appropriate response. But then again, in my follow up article, I showed the kind of responses Filipinos made to the Mayweather refusal. Yes, I agree it’s Manny’s prerogative to refuse… so is Mayweather’s… but the fans abused their prerogative to respond. Such ugly insults were thrown, even before Carolla made his infamous tirade. So Manny’s still shining bright in my view. The fans are the ones who really messed it up.

The speculation is okay on the grounds of business since the only people who can make the event happen are pacquiao and mayweather. If mayweather raises a point (a legit one at that) regarding Pacquiao’s performance with a possible aid of a drug, then that is Pac-man’s decision to clear his name up.
The Filipino people are okay to react with opinions if they say he’s afraid or debate about the necessity of the blood test, which clearly has two sides to it. But more than likely I think one of the sides are going to have to compromise to make the fight happen and that is the bottom line.
It is NOT okay to react with names such as ‘Gayweather’, ‘KFC’, ‘Nigger’ etc. that Pac-man’s fans perpetuate to the opposing fans, even if they DO justify that it is out of pride for their National boxing hero. And this clearly was proven and not a speculation.
Besides REAL boxing fans only care about the bottom line.

The story is, Carolla had a caller, and it was not Carolla himself who raised the issue. The caller was irate because he heard Filipinos use racist comments and other insults against Mayweather. It was even possible that these Filipinos were insulting black boxers, black people and Americans in general. Carolla responded accordingly with his radio show. Those Filipino fans shouldn’t deny that they started it; it’s obvious! Carolla and the caller were only reacting!
The above is a real eye-opener. I wonder why the above information is not being highlighted in all the news and factoids being traded around all over the Net?

I’m a filipino, and I certainly agree with the views of this post. I’m a filipino, and live in the Philippines. There are just people that easily get carried away by their arrogance and other people’s success, we tend to forget ourselves to be humble until something self pitying happens to us and then goes the realization.

I heard that some Filipinos who posted rude comments on Adam’s page didn’t even know why they were doing it. Somebody just told them that he said racist comments about the Phils. How typical of them to overeact.
The beauty of this is that I’ve already written something about Filipinos and their egos. These words should comfort those who are lost at the moment :) :

The national preoccupation is centered on the Filipino ego. To be specific, it’s all about who has offended who and who needs to apologise to whom. This preoccupation pretty much prevents our country from moving forward.
There seems to be something wrong with a psyche that makes us so vulnerable to getting upset or offended so easily. Filipinos get offended so easily from a perceived indiscretion and are often unable to move on to something bigger or higher than such trivial pursuits. We tend to be consumed with words that should mean nothing to us if they were untrue. “

Before the solution there is: Problem Definition. You can’t solve it when you can’t handle taking it upon yourself, the problem. And -most- Filipinos are really defensive when it comes to defining what is the problem with themselves.
Most commenters here go, “What did you ever do? You just rant and don’t solve problems!”. Can’t we go about doing something ourselves when we finally accept our faults? They already helped you realize. It’s your job to improve yourself. They’re not your babysitters. They’re your drill sergeants, your coaches. Pacquiao did good as a boxer, yes. In making our country known… wait, unknown pala ang country natin before Pacquiao came out. Kala ko si Pres. Marcos is the one making our country known. haha. Anyway, Pacquiao did good, but his fans did bad. Di kasalanan ni Pacquiao, it’s the fans who act like wild animals. Mayweather, alam ko ugali nun, pero even he does not deserve wild animal commenters from our country insulting him. Eh di ang napatunayan, katulad tayo ni Mayweather.
So ‘wag ipilit that our culture sucks… thing is, pag nakita mo ‘day, pangit talaga eh. So ano, i-deny nalang? And if this is not the way to change what is? Leave the country? Open naman ako sa suggestion mo. ;)

chino, mas ok ang sagot mo sa akin ngayon mas malambot kaya mas masarap sagutin, anyway ihambing daw ba sa singapore lang? or u think im one of our dh’s (no offense meant to them) kaya tinawag mo akong day?? hehe, anyway, oo naman maaring mas maunlad sila, in fact mas maunlad din ang malaysia at hongkong,atbp, tunay na kainggit inggit ang maayos nilang kapaligiran, na hindi nakakatakot maglakad lakad sa mga bansang iyan, pero paano naman ang india, vietnam,papua, africa, mexico,south america? atbp akala mo ba sobrang safe sa mga lugar na yan at walang mga buwaya diyan, grabe din makapangbuwaya ang mga nasa customs sa mga bansang yan… ang sinasabi ko lang, its not that bad when ur fellow filipino acts exaggerated whenever their idol wins,alam mo ugali ni mayweather? so mas kaya mong marinig na he shows no respect for manny kesa marinig ang mga kapwa mo pilipinong nagche cheer at nagsasabing filipino rules?? hmmm chino, i just got a little carried away thats why i started wrong in my initial comment and i apologize.. ur a fellow flip so i encourage u to stay and theres still hope for our country.. tingnan na lang natin sa election na ito.. teka sino ba ang iboboto mo?? just a lil curious..

I accept the apology… my apologies too if I didn’t get my point across that well… I used ‘day kasi parang generic term sa kin to use for Filipinas, hehe… On other countries na buwaya, that is true, kaya 3rd world or developing countries ang tawag sa mga yan… sadly kasama Pilipinas diyan. Problem is when some Filipinos ay nagpapataas ng ihi sa mga other developed countries, kaya di magandang tingnan. Either Perlas or Gordon ako… pero the final choice will be on the “secret” ballot. :D

Know what, isa ito sa pinakaayoko sa mga ugali ng mga Pilipino. Pag pinuna mo at sinabihang napakacorrupt ng government ng Pilipinas, marumi and Pinas, unruly ang mga tao ang palagi kong naririnig na defense ay “Bakit, tayo lang ba ang bansang marumi? tingnan mo ang (insert country here), mas corrupt naman. Di naman tayo ang pinaka corrupt na gobyerno sa mundo..etc.etc.”. Have we really set the bar that low? That instead of looking into the problem, we have to point out the countries that are worst than ours? It seems that for majority, it makes us a whole lotta better because other countries are more corrupt, chaotic than us. Although in a sense it does make us less worse (better doesn’t even fit here), it does not help solve the problems or address them even. Okay nalang ang ganitong way of life tutal mas may worse naman kaysa sa atin? Very backward talaga. We would never go anywhere with this mentality.
Common misconception ng mga Pinoy is that because one is not from Pinas, spell foreigners, he/she doesn’t know anything about Filipinos or the Philippines. you’d be surprised how much foreigners actually know about the Philippines and it’s people- beyond the beautiful beaches and so-called hospitable people. Hell, even here in sleepy Orem a lot of my colleagues are concerned that a convicted plunderer in Pinas is still running for office, and the presidency at that!
Our country was already known before Pacquaio, tho he also did lots to make us even more known but respected Pinas just becoz of Pacquiao? Nah. They respect Pacquiao, fo sho, but that doesn’t translate as respect for whole Pilipinas. Here’s where we differ with the progressive nations. they do not necessarily see an achievement of just one person as an achievement of the whole nation. It had always been what we can contribute as a people, as a nation. We just think we are respected because Pacquiao is one of sports greatest but they don’t see it as that. They see Pacquiao as an individual and his achievements as his own.
Ika nga ng mga writers dito, Pinoys just love to bask in reflected glory. Wala kasing maipakita as a katilingban kaya nakikisawsaw nalang.

Oh yes and the perfect citizens have been mistreated, abused and exploited for the longest time by horrible people in the government. Guess who votes these people in office? Oh don’t say you didn’t vote because you get just as much of the blame for doing so.

As you said, you never got wind of any insult being uttered from the Manny camp, and all you said is a lot of maybe’s. Don’t fuel this issue with a lot of more speculations. If Manny refuses to abide by Mayweather’s demand, that’s his prerogative, not yours to question. He’s not violating any requirements of the international boxing council or assn (whatever is the correct term). Be careful of posting speculative statements, lest you do more damage.

I hope I did state my speculations in a way that shows that they are speculations. Feel free to dismiss my speculations at will. Perhaps Pacquiao’s response to Carolla shows that he is not “on drugs” as these critics suspect, as it was a level-headed and appropriate response. But then again, in my follow up article, I showed the kind of responses Filipinos made to the Mayweather refusal. Yes, I agree it’s Manny’s prerogative to refuse… so is Mayweather’s… but the fans abused their prerogative to respond. Such ugly insults were thrown, even before Carolla made his infamous tirade. So Manny’s still shining bright in my view. The fans are the ones who really messed it up.

The speculation is okay on the grounds of business since the only people who can make the event happen are pacquiao and mayweather. If mayweather raises a point (a legit one at that) regarding Pacquiao’s performance with a possible aid of a drug, then that is Pac-man’s decision to clear his name up.
The Filipino people are okay to react with opinions if they say he’s afraid or debate about the necessity of the blood test, which clearly has two sides to it. But more than likely I think one of the sides are going to have to compromise to make the fight happen and that is the bottom line.
It is NOT okay to react with names such as ‘Gayweather’, ‘KFC’, ‘Nigger’ etc. that Pac-man’s fans perpetuate to the opposing fans, even if they DO justify that it is out of pride for their National boxing hero. And this clearly was proven and not a speculation.
Besides REAL boxing fans only care about the bottom line.

It’s funny to think that it needed a foreigner to reveal how some Filipinos truly are, when we ought to know ourselves better. I guess it’s a fact a lot of us are too insecure to admit.
Their reactions in Carrolla’s Facebook page are just embarrassing. I think it’s very low for someone post things like that. Yung iba, mali-mali na nga grammar, wala pang substance. If the rest of the world sees those, man, what would they think?
