Now Guansing, Nollas, Paras and their friends have no CHOICE but to CONSULT with their Chapters about nominees for the Europe region!
Look, the KOR Manual and By-Laws are crystal clear, but this has been IGNORED in the past! Remember 2006, when even Sir Barry Bowman CONFIRMED that Paras was NEVER nominated, yet Paras got named, appointed by the Supreme Council, the appointment even SIGNED by Esguerra!
OK, some Pinoys, did nominate Paras in a sort of a Pinoy meeting, but this meeting was never countenanced by then Europe Commander Sir Barry Bowman!

When a company is owned by one individual, then it can happen, that if he is petty, he would promote someone with whom he is comfortable, deserving or not. Those whom he bypassed can either grin and bear it, or leave - that is their choice.
But in a public corporation such as the Knights of Rizal, then there is the KOR Manual to guide the promoter as to the proper protocol in promoting or elevating the knights and it is quite precise in its criteria, that if the promotion is not based on merit, it becomes glaring like a sore thumb, and stinks like h--l.
This has been for many years now the problem that besets the Order. Cries of nepotism have been ignored by Manila for so long. Prominent knights have already left. When will it end?

Here is what people like me would interpret the paragraph coming from Sir Tony Abad’s comments on promotion and selection of members to higher rank, position or echelon:
Qualification standards provided by KOR By-Laws are not necessarily enforceable if the officers feel uncomfortable to members seeking or expecting promotion. Classic example is, "PILIPINO MUNA” case because the Officers don’t feel comfortable with nationalities other than Filipinos.
Promote or exalt anyone in the Order even those of questionable immoral character, BECAUSE THEY ARE PERSONALLY INDEBTED AND THEREFORE ARE EXPECTED TO DANCE WITH THE WOLVES" ON WHOSE COMFORT TAKES PRIORITY OVER FAIRNESS OR RATIONALITY.

TO ALL MY DEAR BROTHER KNIGHTS OF THE GLOBE,
With your indulgence, please allow me to answer the question raised affecting my integrity and the position of Area Commander for the Greater Toronto area and Eastern Canada.
First of all, it is of common knowledge that the Greater Toronto Area is the very heart of Central Canada, and, as such, it has been the practice for years to separate it from the term Central, probably to emphasize to the KOR-WORLD the importance of the area.
Whoever is the Area Commander for Central Canada is automatically the one in charge of its center area. Obviously, the question was put forward to put me on the spot, and practically accuse me as a usurper or a de facto officer of the area in question by mentioning another Knight's name as its Area Commander in the guise of an innocent question.
The council members of KOR-Canada Region, in its last meeting, when the nominations of three knights for the position of the next KOR-Canada Region was taken, touched this very issue because the supposed Area Commander mentioned in the form of a question with malice has been very inactive and has not shown up ,not even in the two major events observed regularly every year. This very issue was discussed relative to the
emerging active KOR Chapter in Montreal City, Quebec,Canada, which I personally witnessed its formal foundation, upon instructions of our very own KOR-Canada Regional Commander, Sir Ka Miling, KGCR, relayed to me through Sir Dr. Chito Collantes, who drove us to the venue of that big celebration.
This took place in Montreal during the new group's formal Gala Night held at the center of the city on December 26, 2009. In the course of the discussions at said meeting, the KOR-Canada Region Pursuivant himself ,to whom this very issue was directed, moved that I take over that area since this is located in Eastern Canada and, again, there seems to be no one in charge. Since nobody opposed the motion, it was deemed unanimously carried. Furthermore, I do not see the point in raising this question at this time, considering that there is no forthcoming event, and we expect a new set of officers for the KOR_Canada Region in less than a month from now.
The question was done in BAD FAITH, BAD TASTE and is off tangent, to say the least. The reason for this explanations is just to straighten the records and not to hurt anybody, although any person in his right senses would agree with the undersigned that the question is irrelevant, immaterial, impertinent, offensive, unnecessary, unexpected and uncalled for.

Just for information. Who is the incumbent Area Commander for Eastern Canada?
Is it still Sir Arguelles? Is there a Greater Toronto Area - Area Commander?
