Duterte spokesperson says Advincula has no credibility due to criminal past

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said today that Peter Joemel Advincula, the man who claimed that he’s the real-life “Bikoy” from the viral videos, has no credibility due to his criminal past and because his accusations have already been disproven.
Bikoy is the alias used by a hooded man who appeared in the viral Ang Totoong Narco List (The Real Narco List) videos. He accused former Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte, former presidential aide and senatorial candidate Christopher “Bong” Go, and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s husband Manases Carpio of benefitting from the drug trade.
Yesterday, Advincula appeared at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) in Pasig City, introducing himself as the real-life Bikoy. He also asked IBP members for legal aidas he planned to file charges against Go, Carpio, and Paolo.
Panelo used today’s press conference to attack Advincula’s credibility. “He’s ruined. Look at [his accusations] against Bong Go, it doesn’t hold. [Go] showed his back and it was clean.”
Go stripped down and bared his back again at a press conference in Laguna yesterday to prove that he doesn’t have any tattoos, reported The Philippine Star. In the videos, Bikoy alleges that Go and Paolo have tattoos on their backs, which allegedly prove that they are on the payroll of a drug syndicate.
Go also showed his back last month.
Panelo said today that the Rural Bank of Guinobatan, which was implicated in Ang Totoong Narco List for allegedly being used to facilitate the payment of drug lords, has denied that they were involved in the scheme. The bank denied the accusations through a statement posted on its Facebook page last month.
The presidential spokesman also said that Misibis Bay Resort and Hotel Inc. has denied Bikoy’s claim that his former drug syndicate kept a laboratory within the resort’s property. Misibis Bay said they will file a cyber libel case against Advincula in connection to this, reported Abante TNT.
“His (Advincula) credibility is low,” Panelo said. “He’s been convicted of many cases. It’s very obvious that it’s black propaganda. And very obvious that he’s only being used as a pawn [of other people].”
PNP chief General Oscar Albayalde told the media today that Advincula was convicted of illegal recruitment, for which he served six years behind bars, CNN Philippines reported. Albayalde also said that Advincula has a pending swindling case before the National Bureau of Investigation.
Albayalde said that if Advincula truly is Bikoy, he could be charged with cyber libel.
Today, Panelo said that the Philippine National Police (PNP) is currently investigating Advincula.
“They’re seeing something. It could be a bombshell [discovery] from the way I look at it. But I won’t divulge it yet,” he said.
Panelo said he’s just waiting for the PNP to answer some of his questions before he can reveal the supposed discovery.
President Rodrigo Duterte has already been informed of Advincula’s existence but Panelo said the president has not commented about him.
“He was just listening [to me]. Nothing. His style is if there’s someone investigating [the case], he leaves it be. And [he] just waits for the report.”
Meanwhile, Senator Panfilo Lacson said today that he might call for a Senate investigation into the Ang Totoong Narco List case, but only if Advincula presents evidence to back up his claims that President Duterte’s men are truly involved in the drug business, reported ABS-CBN News.
