Robredo’s Men Drives Away Mayon Evacuees from VP’s Property

February 01, 2018

Armed men allegedly working for Vice President Leni Robredo reportedly drives away around 200 Mayon victims who tried to take shelter inside the vacant forested and unfenced property owned by the VP’s family.

Special Action Forces (SAF) Chief Senior Superintendent Guillermo Cadaig told local reporters that they have detained at least six men armed with sidearms and revolvers, for threatening evacuees twho ran for their lives away from the raging volcano.

Although the property is private and there is nothing in their, Cadaig said it is inhuman and irrational for these people to prohibit victims from using the said land.

One of the evacuees who informed the SAF about the incident said the group fired at them, telling them to leave the area.

Pinaputokan po kami”, Manuel Subico told police on Thursday.

The six arrested individuals are currently held at Ligao City police station for further investigation.

It wasn’t clear who told them to drive the victims away, but police said that the 47-hectare hillside property is indeed owned by the family of VP Robredo.

President Rodrigo Duterte on his visit to Albay on Tuesday call on the public to extend help to the victims of Mayon volcano “by any possible means”.
