Panelo to Trillanes: HE IS THE EPITOME OF FALSEHOOD in this country

In an interview on Thursday, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo slammed Senator Antonio Trillanes IV after linking Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte – son of President Duterte of being part of an international crime syndicate.

“He reminds me of a walking robotical nonsense. He is the epitome of falsehood in this country,”

Panelo’s reaction after Paolo Duterte and his brother in law Atty. Manases “Mans” Carpio encountered Trillanes during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the alleged implication in the issue of corruption at the Bureau of Customs (BOC).

Senator Trillanes a vocal critic of the President Duterte, said during the Senate hearing that Paolo Duterte has the tattoo of a Chinese drug triad group as claimed information given to him as evidence. He also accused that Paolo and Carpio has P100 million worth each in their bank accounts.

Panelo also believes that since the Senator failed to turn down President Duterte he’s now targeting the relatives of the chief executive.

“Isa na namang kabalbalan ang ginawa ni Senador Trillanes kanina. He has engaged in what I would call a malicious propaganda against the President through the son-in-law and his son,” Panelo said.

“Ito rin ang ginawa niya kay Presidente Duterte nung nagkakampanya pa,” he added, pertaining to last year on the presidential campaign accusing President Duterte on the undeclared wealth of at least P211 million in his 2014 Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net.

Presidential sons appear in the Senate hearing to attest on the alleged P6.4-billion worth of shabu shipment from China.

Customs broker Mark Ruben Taguba named Paolo and Mans Carpio of being behind the "Davao Group" that allegedly transacted smuggling inside the Bureau of Customs (BOC).

However, Taguba in his statement sent by his lawyer Raymond Fortun, denied that the two are involved in the shipment of illegal drugs in the country.

"I had never testified, nor will I ever testify that Vice-Mayor Paolo Duterte and/or Atty. Manse Carpio were involved in the shipment of illegal drugs into the country. Neither have I testified, nor will I ever testify that the aforementioned individuals were involved in the 'tara system' that was in place at the Bureau of Customs,"
