Babuyan na lang! Duterte wants 1-hour TV show to uncover ‘stink’ of Inquirer, ABS-CBN owners and their children

In 1999, former President Joseph Estrada initiated an advertising boycott against the Inquirer and sued the owners of the Manila Times as his primary counterattack strategy against media critical of his administration.
In 2017, President Rodrigo Duterte is taking a more personal approach by engaging the Inquirer and ABS-CBN News in a tit-for-tat battle in muckracking.
In a speech in Malacanang Friday, Duterte planned to use the government owned broadcast station, PTV-4, as his main platform to curse out at the owners of Inquirer and ABS-CBN and expose their skeletons in the closet.
Duterte vowed to give media their dues after absorbing what he perceived as “rude, unfair and corrupt reporting.”
“Sumosobra kasi ang media eh. Binababoy na nila. So kung ganon, I have a government station here, PTV-4. How do you suppose if I get one hour? Pupuruhin ko kayo araw-araw at istorya ko kayo mga buhay ng anak ninyo,” said Duterte.
“I mean, huwag ninyo masyadong sobrahan because hindi naman ako mag-hurimentado but I will give you your dues also. Wala magmula sa amin. Mahirap lang kami,” he added. “Huwag ninyong sobrahan ‘yan ‘yung slant. Napakabaho naman ninyo kayong mga Prieto, kayong mga Lopez. You’re full of shit.”
Duterte said he would like to see how Inquirer and ABS-CBN would react if they were on the receiving end of bis exposes.
“Kayo kaya kung kalkalin ko ‘yung mga buhay ninyo? Mga anak ninyo? I am sorry to… Talagang smarting ako. Now is the… Kasi nandito kasi si Ramon Lopez, time for me to bull shit the Lopez, tutal hindi naman siya Lopez,” said Duterte.
