In a survey commissioned by DZRH and conducted nationwide with almost 7,000 respondents, Noynoy Aquino garnered a rating of 42.4%, almost double that of the rating of his closest rival. Meanwhile, Mar Roxas rated 42.4%, with a lead of more than 11 percentage points over the runner-up. In the senatorial derby, five of the LP's senatorial candidates made it to DZRH's "magic 12:" Frank Drilon, Ralph Recto, Serge Osmeña, TG Guingona and Ruffy Biazon.
Aquino and Roxas are also leading in the hearts and minds of Davaoeños, as reflected in the "Pulso Davao" local survey conducted by the Office of the Mayor of Davao City last month. Aquino garnered 45.44%, almost double the rating of his closest rival for President. In the VP derby, Roxas' 47% was also almost double that of his closest rival. Furthermore, a large plurality of students of Michael's College of Iligan and of Camarines Norte State College selected Aquino and Roxas for President and Vice President, respectively.
We are leading the race; but we must work harder still to achieve our victory.
This is our chance to instill genuine and meaningful change in the system. Our lineup—from top to bottom--has the honesty and integrity that can bring about this change. We need leaders like them in every institution of government: not only in Malacañang and the Office of the Vice President, but also in the halls of the Senate and Congress and in local government.
A few more months of hard work and committment will bring about the Philippines that we have always dreamed of.
