Family of ‘perfectly fit and healthy’ man, 39, who died three days after flu and whooping cough vaccines to sue after blaming his death on the immunisations

  • Lindsey Day, 39, died three days after taking the immunisation jabs on April 28
  • The Sydney man's condition worsened rapidly and he suffered a seizure on May 1
  • He was declared brain dead on May 2 and his family blame the jabs for his death
  • His partner's sister said doctors admitted to them it was 'clear what happened'

The family of a 'perfectly fit' and healthy man who died just three days after taking the flu and whooping cough vaccines are blaming the jabs for his death and are considering legal action.
Lindsey Day, 39, from Glenmore Park in Sydney's west saw his condition deteriorate rapidly after he was given the injections on April 28.
What began as cold and flu-like symptoms quickly worsened, and on May 1 Mr Day collapsed on his way to work.

Having gone back inside and told his partner Vanessa Wainwright he was too unwell to go to work, Mr Day had a seizure and stopped breathing within minutes.
He was rushed to hospital but never regained consciousness and was declared brain dead the next day - with an autopsy revealing he died from acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDs).
According to Channel 9, Ms Wainwright and her sister Sarah Amituanai said they were convinced the vaccine caused his death.
ARDs can be caused by unknown factors, and Mr Day's autopsy report noted this type of lung disease can be caused by flu vaccine complications.
Ms Amituanai said some doctors even told her 'it's very clear what happened but you are never going to get anyone to admit it'.
She said: 'He was perfectly fit and healthy - the bottom line is if he hadn't got the vaccine he would still be here.
'It's like saying the sky is not blue, you have seen it happen with your own eyes - you can't deny that.'

Ms Amituanai said the family were considering their legal options, having spoken to solicitors.
The president of the Australian Medical Association Tony Bartone said flu-like symptoms following an influenza immunisation are generally easily managed.
He added the symptoms had to be contrasted with the thousand or more people who died from contracting influenza.
He declined however to comment on Mr Day's individual case.
