Students at National University on Thursday started to walk out from Sen. Risa Hontiveros speech after she promoted the anti-Marcos book written by Raissa Robles.
Hontiveros visited National University on Thursday morning as guest speaker on Human Rights but has met with criticism over Marcos Martial Law: Never Again book.
"We gathered here as part of our sociology subject and to learn about human rights. We did not expect that Senator Hontiveros took our subject matter with politics. We are not political students and her promotion of anti-Marcos book is an unwelcome gesture", sociology class president Karen Mae Delgado said.
The senator has reportedly brought dozens of books intended for students for free but met with strong opposition.
Hontiveros declined to face the media upon leaving the school premises.
The senator was earlier criticized for distributing the same book in Quezon City National High School.
