PDEA Declares Robredo's Hometown Naga as Shabu Capital of the Philippines Following Multiple Arrests


The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has now declared Naga City the Drug capital of the Philippines following the latest multiple arrests that includes 60-year old woman and several others on Saturday.

PDEA said that the drug cases in the hometown of Vice President Leni Robredo continues to increase despite the government's effort to curb the drug activities in the area.

Since President Rodrigo Duterte took office, Camarines Sur and Naga City is on the top of the lists of the cities and provinces having the most arrested drug personalities.

The following major arrests are some of the cases recorded on police record.

July 3, 2016
Police arrested 13 people in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Penafrancia, Naga City Saturday. The arrests were made on the strength of 11 search warrants for "Isla" or "Sagrada Familia" in zones 5 and 6, a known area of narcotics transactions.

The operation yielded 51 sachets of suspected shabu, various drug paraphernalia and two CCTV computer sets.

Three of the 13 suspects were apprehended while using and repacking narcotics. The suspect were believed to be members of the Alegre and Arbuis drug groups. Appropriate charges were being prepared against them. The arrest made 3 days after Duterte took office.

July 11, 2016
The 13 drug personalities arrested by a combined team of lawmen in Bicol during a buy-bust operation in Camarines Sur on July 2 have identified three police officers from the Naga City Police Office as their coddlers or protectors.

October 14, 2016
Nine people were arrested during a drug raid conducted by the police on Saturday in a hotel in Naga City.

Members of the city's infamous Orcine Drug Group were allegedly caught in the act of using drugs in one of the rooms of the hotel.

The group's alleged leader Eduardo Orcine and live-in partner Mara Mikee Aven were among those arrested. The other suspects were identified as Diosdado Orcine, Mylene Onquit, Regino Galvante, Francis Tarilla, Peter John Marcial, Ramon Cambe, and John Gary Buendia. Police said they seized P50,000 worth of shabu and several drug paraphernalia.

A joint elements of Criminal Investigation and Detection Team - Camarines Sur and Naga City Police Office has arrested four persons in a buy-bust operation inside a Traveller's Inn on Tuesay evening.

The suspects were apprehended inside the Room A-5 of Zamgem Traveller's Inn in Barangay Bagumbayan Sur, Naga City.

They were identified as Eric Montierro y Ventocilla, Emerson Canaveral y Robles, Armando Valle y Imperial and Alex Puse y Bersabe.

Thje four suspects were confiscated possessing four pieces transparent plastic sachets containing suspected "Shabu": one (1) piece PHP500.00 bill used as buy-bust money and boodle money amounting to PhP6,000.

Arrested Alex Monteiro, Alex Puse and Amando Valle were former surrenderree in Oplan Tokhang, while Canaveral is currently under the Drug Watchlist of Camaligan PNP. On Monday of January 23, 2017, another person was arrested illegal in a buy-bust operation in Lanzones St. Zone 3, Barangay Triangulo, Naga City. A combined elements of Criminal Investigation and Detection Team - Camarines Sur and personnel of Police Station 2, Naga Naga City Police Office has arrested Reynaldo Asuncion y Mallorca alyas "Potpot". Three pieces of transparent sachets containing suspected "shabu": one PhP500.00 peso bill used as buy-bust money were confiscated.

April 24, 2017 - The man dubbed as the no. 1 most wanted drug suspect in the entire Bicol region has fallen in the hands of police. According to a Bicol Standard report Sunday (April 23), suspect Wilson Baita was arrested by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEA) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Team (CIDT9. In particular, Baita was captured after falling prey to a buy-bust operation at Room 3, Barangay Sagrada in Baao town, Camarines Sur. The report did not say how much drugs or money was recovered from the suspect following the operation which was preceded by a "long intelligence work."

It can be recalled that last month, elements of PDEA also made a big time arrest after they nabbed brothers Macneil Abines and Christian Abines. Described as "major drug dealers" in the province, the duo yielded a whopping P5.8 million worth of "shabu." Sources said that their father, SPO2 Reinier Abines, is the bodyguard of a local politico.

April 27, 2017
The joint police operatives has arrested Richard Diaz y Matabang, alyas Waway, at around 2:30 this pm in a buy bust operation at Zone 1, Barangay Mabolo here. Police reports say that Diaz was the subject of a surveillance operation due to his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in the said barangay and other areas nearby.

Upon his arrest, the operatives were able to confiscate from him two (2) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected "shabu," P500.00 used as buy-bust money, and two cellular phones.

May 17, 2017
Two suspected drug pushers, including a minor, were arrested in a drug bust around 9:10 p.m., Thursday, May 18, in Sitio Tapon, Barangay Tinaan, Naga City. Cebu Authorities caught Rudyl Roy Salve Villena 19, and his 14-year old cohort. Rudyl's father, Pablo Mejares Villena, escaped arrest. The arrested suspects yielded two sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu."

The National Bureau of Investigation's Naga District Office arrested one of the notorious drug pushers in Mabolo, in Naga City last June 12, the agency said on Friday.

The NBI identified the suspect as Richard Estrella, alias Chabo, who operates in towns nearby Naga City. The latest arrest is in line with the continuing anti-illegal drug campaign of the government, the NBI said. The NBI said Estrella was arrested in his residence in Mabolo, Naga City by virtue of a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC9, Iriga City.

An illegal drug trader from Cavite yielded 100 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) valued at PHP0.6 million in a buy bust operation at the Bicol Central Terminal Station in Naga City, Camarines Sur on Wednesday, said reports that reached the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO5) on Thursday.

Sr. Supt. Ma. Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of PRO5 based in Camp Simeon Ota in this city, said the suspect, identified as Jalil Guro Macabando, 23, was arrested at the terminal station in Barangay Triangulo, Naga City around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. She said the team of police operatives pounced on Macabando, a resident of Barangay H2 in Dasmarinas, Cavite, immediately after his arrest at the terminal station.

"The shabu was wrapped with a masking tape," said Calubaquib. She said the lawmen handed PHP1,000 marked money to Macabando before announcing his arrest.

TWO unidentified persons were killed while a suspected drug pusher eluded arrest during a drug bust in Sitio Centro, Baranga Langtad in Naga City, Cebu, past midnight Saturday, July 29. The suspect was identified as Jorge Canceran, a high-value target who was the subject of the drug bust.

July 30, 2017
Two alleged henchmen of a high-value drug target in Naga City in southern Cebu were killed in a shootout with police dawn yesterday.

The two were identified as Wilmer Sayaboc, 38, and his nephew, Steven Sayaboc, 21, both residents of Barangay Inuburan. Police recovered two 38 caliber revolvers, two fired cartridges inside the cylinder, three bullet slugs, three empty shells of caliber 45 revolvers, three small packs of shabu worth P3,500, and the medium pack of shabu that was supposed to be sold.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two suspects on its watch list during a buy-bust operation in Naga City where P200,000 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated.

In a statement on Monday night, PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspects as Jesus Bandola y Navales, 39, and Francia Bandola y delos Santos, 40, who were arrested at Zone 4 in Bagong Sirang, Barangay Sabang b operatives of PDEA Regional Office 5 (PDEA RO5), led by Acting Regional Director Christian Frivaldo, on October 25.

Confiscated during the operation were a piece of medium-sized transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu, weighing about 50 grams, with an estimated value of P250,000, and the buy-bust money.

60-year-old woman and three other people were arrested in Naga City on Saturday night while allegedly transporting P6 million worth of shabu.

PDEA identified the suspects as Olivia Enconas, 60, of San Pedro, Laguna; Rodi Gundo, 34, of Tipas, Taguig City; Joel Saut, 36, of amadeo, Cavite; and Alvin Andaya, 37, of Amadeo, Cavite. Seized from the suspects were several plastic packs with an estimated one kilogram of shabu worth with a strew value of P6 million.
