Minamahal at Pinagpipitaganang Mga Kapatid sa Lahi:
BE IT KNOWN BEFOREHAND THAT THIS WRITER OWES NO DEBT OF GRATITUDE, MATERIAL OR OTHERWISE, FROM THE MARCOS FAMILY.
- Show quoted text - First Lady's (Imelda Marcos) Green Revolution?"
He answered frivolously and in jest: "I think it's turning yellow.." (Kung sa bagay, -- on hindsight -- ay waring prophetic ang isinagot niya, kasi'y talaga namang nagkaroon nga ng "YELLOW REVOLUTION" three years afterwards! O, di ba?
Moreover, Ka Pule2 had the temerity of asking the STRONGMAN for a One-on-One meeting, which was granted. The reason? Tinanong, o kinompronta siyang minsan ni Apo Marcos:
"Are you the one giving leaks to Doronila?" (Amando Doronila, the hard-hitting colunmist ng Daily Mirror).
"Hindi naman, sir... Why should I?" was Ka Pule2's defensive reply.
Nung minsang maagang nakatapos ng afternoon schedule for reception of official visitors and callers, Apo Macoy motioned the timorous reporter into his Inner Study, where firearms of all kinds and types were plastered on the four walls of Malacanang's Sanctum Sanctorum.
Mr. Marcos merely listened, without uttering a word and with his almond eyes continually blinking, to the following plaints:
1. Why is it that the Radio Reporter from Station DZAS, a Kano whom he suspected as a C.I.A. agent, was the one being regularly accommodated in the TRAFCON Lead car during motorcades, or Presidential convoy; instead of the Press Office Photographer who jumps out from the Press Car way back at rear of the motorcade, and scrambles dangerously to catch up with any newsworthy object to be shot, often missing important events?
2. It was a mistake, or rather unfair, to have (recently) staged a GIANT RALLY, which was organized by NACIDA Administrator Mario Reyes with movie celebrities inside the Palace Grounds to drown out the demonstration by Roger "Bomba" Arienda at Freedom Park, outside the Palace Gates. It were better if Roger was invited and convinced, or prevailed upon to
cooperate in the efforts of government.
3. Ka Pule2's favorite topic: National Language. In fact, a follow -up Memorandum dated August 4, 1984 (kahi't relieved na si Ka Pule2 sa Study Room beat as having been perceived as a "security risk") was officially received at the Malacanang Records Office on 14th August following -- on the SUBJECT: "Language, and Real Independence".
Rightly or wrongly, this could have been the basis for Mr. Marcos' issuance of his Memorandum on LANGUAGE, to the Minister (Jaime C Laya) of Education and Culture, (and) Other members of the Cabinet, dated 17 January 1986; then followed by a Seminar on Language Translation (or Pagsasaling Wika) -- wherein Ka Pule2 was a participant -- at the Teachers' Camp in Baguio City, which started on 21 February. Then EDSA One erupted on the 25th -- and Mr. Marcos (with entourage) was abducted by US Marines, courtesy of the C.I.A.; And DETAINED IN HAWAII UNTIL DEATH OVERTOOK HIM THERE.
During Ka Pule2's ONE-ON-ONE with the Strongman, the First Lady, Mrs. Imelda Romualdez Marcos peeped twice thru the half-opened door, saying: "Ma le-late na tayo sa ating appointment, Darling."
That was the last time Ka Pule2 saw the hapless President, whom he esteems as STILL THE BEST PRESIDENT of all from Magsaysay to the present, except of course P-Noy who is still on the trial stage.
Ka Pule2 would not yet fault P-Noy for his present ill-advised stance because his decisions ought to be dependent on the information being fed by his subalterns.
So much for this brouhaha on the "Marcos burial."
