China grants Duterte’s wish: Chinese Coast Guard no longer at Scarborough Shoal

politiko

China appears to have acceded to President Rodrigo Duterte’s wish to allow Filipino fishermen to fish at Scarborough Shoal, with MalacaƱang noting the absence of Chinese Coast Guard vessels in the disputed portion of the South China Sea a week after he flew to Beijing.

Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella on Friday (Oct. 28) said Filipino fishermen are now able to fish freely at the shoal.

“Regarding fishing in Scarborough Shoals, for the past three days it has been observed that there are no longer any Chinese Coast Guard vessels and that Filipino fishing boats are no longer being intercepted and that they are now able to fish in the area without being intercepted,” he said in a press conference.

Duterte earlier expressed his hope that Filipino fishermen could resume fishing at the disputed shoal after he went on a four-day state visit to China from Oct. 18 to 21.

He confirmed that the shoal was brought up during his meeting with Chinese officials though he was scant on the details.

“Let us just wait for a few more days, maybe we could return to Scarborough Shoal,” Duterte said last Oct. 23.

POST FACT. POST TRUTH.

By Mark Lopez
Wait a minute....
Did you know that we have a leader who ....
... Has visited 14 military camps in just a month, including installations that no sitting president has ever laid eyes before. He also visited military hospitals and has invited wounded soldiers for a dinner get together in Malacanang.
...Has initiated talks with the left with the hope on ending a long standing armed struggle. Established goodwill by freeing prominent leftists leaders.
...Has managed to negotiate for the release of foreigners held hostage by armed bandits in the south.
... Has handled a terrorist crisis well (Davao bombing) managing to immediately restore normalcy, personally visiting the dead and comforting the injured, and enabled the authorities to immediately track down the perpetrators. After which, he also managed to direct an all out offensive against the armed terrorists
...Has visited Batanes after a typhoon, and even if Batanes is governed by a prominent clan opposed to him.
... Has visited China, Japan, Indonesia, Brunei and attended an ASEAN Summit in Laos. Note the significance of giving priority to Asian neighbors.
... in between two foreign trips, went to visit another typhoon ravaged area (Cagayan), on a Sunday when most people are resting...
... Has opened Malacanang to leftists, the first time ever said group was able to set foot in the palace.
...Has been mentioned or is a frequent topic of conversation now across the globe so much so that he and our country were even mentioned in a campaign rally by one of two presidential candidates in the US of A.
...Has managed to significantly improve airport and airline services, and got rid of the "tanim bala" scam by a simple directive.
...Has managed to improve LRT MRT services, including operation of basic but convenient facilities like escalators and elevators.
...Has managed to launch a nationwide emergency response system 911, and a nationwide government complaint center 8888 in just his first month in office.
... Has required the entire government to eliminate long lines or queue by ordinary people, and also simplify government transactions. For instance, drivers license are now valid for 5 years while passports will be valid for 10 years. Meanwhile, all permits and licenses and documents like NSO certificates, Seamans' book should be released in 3 days.
...Has managed to sign an FOI for the executive branch of government, the only chief executive to do so.
... Has managed to significantly improve disaster preparedness and relief operations plus proper use and spend of government resources.
...Has managed to implement changes in the agricultural sector to enable the country to be self reliant in food production and distribution.
...Has paved the way to genuine land reform as well as directing the release of coco levy funds to the real beneficiaries.
...Has directed the repatriation of stranded OFWs and personally welcoming them at the airport.
...Has managed to open one-stop-shops for OFW requirements for ease of transactions.
... Has managed to sneak in and around Metro Manila and personally put to task mayors who have been sleeping on the job. This is not being mentioned officially, and there will be a denial if there will be those who will try to confirm. Exhibit A: Divisoria Exhibit B: Alabang Exhibit C: Pasig

Personally, I can't help but agree with this guy whoever he is and by the way, credit for this video goes to him too.

I have read Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War' and I know many who have read it too, however, I don't know anyone who actually practices what is taught in the book until now. Duterte is a different breed of person, very sharp and full of guts and it takes guts to practice what is taught in the Art of War.

This short video presents in very simple terms what Duterte is doing and how it relates to the Art of War. I enjoyed watching it and I am sure you will enjoy it too.

Must Read: De Lima Pushes For Social Media Ban in the Philippines

Senator Leila De Lima has lodged a proposal with the Philippines Senate seeking to place a ban on the use of social media in the country.
According to De Lima, the social media has been abused by the Filipino youth and the addiction is growing rapidly. She added that, the high rate of unemployment is not because there are no jobs, but it’s because the youth are lazy.
“They would rather spend time on the internet spreading false information about me. It will be banned” – She said.
According to the senator, the youth do not have any plans of seeking for employment or higher education but spend all their time on Facebook spreading malicious information about her.
“I understand they want to support their leader. Yes, I have no problem but you don’t spend all your precious time circulating bad information about me while you could have used that to work. This is a complete laziness” – De Lima said.
Series of fake reports have been circulating online about the senator with some suggesting that she has resigned from her post. She has therefore attributed the situation to laziness among the youth of the country.

De Lima Buys $6 million Mansion in New York | Government to probe source of funds

Filipino Senator, Leila De Lima, has purchased a $6 million dollar mansion in Bronx, New York, in the United States of America.

The house, located in 895 Shore Rd, Bronx, NY 10464, United States, which was paid for in February 2016 has been a top-secret between herself and former driver.

A concerned Filipino citizen in New York submitted evidence of De Lima’s ownership to the Philippines government for further investigation into her source of funding for the purchase.
Preliminary investigations conducted indicate that payment was sent by De Lima through a Manila-based factory. Several transactions totalling over $6 million dollars have also been spotted on De Lima’s bank statement been funds sent to the Manila company.

A probe would soon be launched into the mansion’s purchase.

Despite testimony from dozens of inmates tagging Senator Leila De Lima as a “protector” of drug syndicates and a key personality in the illegal drug trade in the national jail, a house committee did not recommend her prosecution.

The final report approved by the House of Representatives’ Committee on Justice and Human Rights said “all of the evidence point to her…in these illegal activities.”

But it added that it would leave it up to the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Ombudsman to decide whether it to file charges against De Lima for her role in abetting illegal drugs.

However, members of the house minority bloc were dissatisfied with the report and voted against it.

Philippines' Duterte says God warned him off swearing

(Note: Obscenity in paragraph nine)
MANILA (Reuters) - Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has made a promise to stop swearing, saying God spoke to him during a flight from Japan on Thursday and warned him the plane would crash if he kept using bad language.
The maverick former mayor, famous for his profanity that has included outbursts aimed at Pope Francis and U.S. President Barack Obama, said he heard a voice and realized it was God, telling him to clean up his act.
"I was looking at the skies while I was coming over here ... everybody was asleep, snoring, but a voice said that, 'you know, if you don't stop epithets, I will bring this plane down now'," Duterte said at a news conference late on Thursday upon arrival in his home city of Davao.
"And I said, 'who is this?' So, of course, it's God. OK.
"So, I promise God ... not to express slang, cuss words and everything."
Duterte, a former outspoken city mayor, emerged as a brash, crass, alternative candidate in a May election which he won by a big margin, owing much to his earthy style and promises to tackle problems important to ordinary people, like drugs and crime.
Advice to act more presidential once he took office was not heeded for long, however, and he resumed his eruptions of profanity with gusto when he started hearing foreign criticism of his deadly drugs war.
He has called U.S. President Barack Obama a "son of a bitch" and chose the same words when criticizing the pope.
He told Obama to "go to hell", called U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon a "devil" and said "fuck you" twice to the European Union, while raising his middle finger.
In Tokyo on Tuesday, Duterte used the same language when speaking about his anger with foreign criticism of his drug war.
It was not the first time Duterte has spoken of his connection with God, whom he said had made him president.
Alan Peter Cayetano, Duterte's vice-presidential running mate and now his foreign affairs adviser, said Duterte was tired and appeared pensive during the flight back from Japan.
"He felt it was a message from God," Cayetano told reporters on Friday.
"I've always felt he's a deeply spiritual person, he's not religious, but he believes in God."
The Philippines is predominantly Roman Catholic.

Let’s get it on! Mocha Uson, Lacierda clash on what stupid means

Perhaps exasperated at the thousands of netizens who take sexy performer Mocha Uson’s statements on President Rodrigo Duterte as gospel truth, former presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda took to Facebook to appeal to her to “stop spreading the virus” of stupidity and research first before posting anything.
In a note posted after Duterte dared the United States to withdraw aid to the Philippines, Lacierda urged Uson to use Google to know just how much assistance the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) gives to the Philippines annually.
“Don’t settle for stupidity. I know you mean well but Donald Trump shouldn’t be the standard of your nobility. You have an obligation to raise the standard of discourse. So don’t dumb down, level up,” he said.
In response, Uson told the former government official: “Sorry po sir Edwin Lacierda kayo na matalinong disente.”
Instead of keeping his silence, Lacierda shot back at the sexy performer and told her that she is “plain lazy” for failing— or refusing— to back up her claims with research.
Addressing Uson, he said: “You refused to enrich yourself with the truth. You satisfy yourself with the naked belief that your words are, in and of themselves, gospel truth. You speak of USAID without a whit evidencing effort on your part to learn its role. Maybe you have a phalanx of researchers, maybe you don’t. But if you want people to disagree with you intelligibly, the minimum requirement, for goodness sake, is to take some time to read and research.”
Given Uson’s immense reach on social media, Lacierda sad since it imperative upon her to do her followers a favor and research.
“As the Nike ad says: JUST DO IT! Research! I believe you have the intellectual capacity and the decency to do what is a basic human value of getting the facts straight,” he told her.
In response to Lacierda’s post, Uson posted this short statement on her page: “Salamat po sir Edwin Lacierda. Tapos napo 6 years niyo po move on na. With the utmost respect.”

My dear Mocha,
The whole purpose of the post was not to elicit an apology from you. If all you got from that post was to portray yourself with false humility, that was not my intention and frankly and with all due respect, you can be better than that.
As a personality on social media, your FB is meant to sway people or to maintain support for the president. In a democracy that we live in, you are perfectly within your right to animate your followers.

Pang-diin: VACC submits sworn statements of witnesses vs. De Lima to DOJ

To strengthen its drug complaint against Senator Leila De Lima, the Victims Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) has submitted before the Department of Justice (DOJ) the sworn statements of 18 witnesses who testified before the House of Representatives.
The VACC attached the statements of the witnesses in the supplemental complaint it filed Thursday (October 27) against De Lima.
Also included in the supplemental complaint is the report-slash-findings of the House Committee on Justice which recently conducted an inquiry on the proliferation of illegal drugs at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
The sworn statements included those from National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Deputy Director Rafael Ragos; NBI agent Jovencio Ablen; Presidential Security Group (PSG) members Joenel Sanchez and Romel Falcasantos; Police Superintendent Jerry Valeroso; Reynante Diaz; and Bilibid inmates Rodolfo Magleo, Herbert Colanggo, Noel Martinez, Jaime Patcho, Hans Anton Tan, Froilan Trestiza, Jojo Baligad, Engelberto Durano, Nonilo Arile, Joel Capones, Wu Tuan Yuan who is also known as Peter Co, and Vicente Sy.

BREAKING NEWS: Ronnie Dayan Arrested in Urbiztondo

Controversial former driver and alleged lover of Sen. Leila de Lima, Ronnie Dayan has been arrested by the joint police operatives this dawn after tip off, Senior Supt. Ronald Lee, acting police director of Pangasinan has confirmed.

This was after the reward for information leading to the arrest of Ronnie Dayan was increased after a businessman pledged to double the original amount of P100,000.

The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) earlier committed P100,000 after the House of Representatives' committee on justice cited the driver for contempt and issued an arrest warrant against him for snubbing a congressional inquiry on the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa.

The businessman, who requested anonymity is from Pangasinan, said he merely wanted to help locate Dayan to know the truth about his participation in the drug trade in the NBP.

"It's good if there would be more who would add to the reward so that our hunt for him would be faster," Lee said.

The police was unrelenting with their manhunt for Dayan, after raids conducted on several of the houses in Barangay Galarin in Urbiztondo last Tuesday came up empty for illegal guns.

The search was conducted after presiding Judge Hermogenes Fernandez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 56 in San Carlos City, Pangasinan issued a warrant.

Joint police operatives from the provincial office, Urbiztondo police, Provincial Public Safety Command and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group together made the arrest at his hideout in Urbiztondo.

He is currently been held in police custody.

House minority bloc recommends filing of raps vs. De Lima

By XIANNE ARCANGEL, GMA News

The House minority bloc has recommended the filing of graft, bribery, and drug-related charges against Senator Leila de Lima in connection with her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
In a 15-page report released Thursday, the minority group of lawmakers led by Quezon Rep. Danilo Suarez said De Lima should be held liable for supposedly being the coddler and protector of drug traffickers and drug lords, in violation of Section 8 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The bloc said she should also be charged for violation of Section 27 of RA 9165 for allegedly receiving money from drug lords.
In addition to the aforementioned charges, minority lawmakers said De Lima can also be charged for violating Section 7 of Republic Act 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, which prohibits government officials from accepting gifts or money.
At a press conference, Suarez said their group will report their recommendations on De Lima’s prosecution to the plenary when sessions resume in November.
The House justice committee concluded that De Lima was involved in the drug trade inside the NBP but passed the responsibility of possibly filing charges against her to the Department of Justice and the Office of the Ombudsman.
Inmates' testimonies
In its report, the minority bloc cited the testimony of NBP inmate Engelbert Durano as basis for the filing of drug-related charges against De Lima.
During the committee hearing, Durano claimed that the senator’s former driver, Ronnie Dayan, told him he could help protect his business if they helped the then-Justice Secretary raise funds for her 2016 senatorial bid.
Another witness, Joel Capones, also testified to working with convicted kidnapper Jaybee Sebastian so that the drug trade inside the national penitentiary will continue under De Lima’s protection in exchange for giving her money.
“These facts tend to show that De Lima was being given money in exchange for ‘protection’ of the business of drug lords,” the minority group said.
According to the minority group’s report, De Lima should also be held liable for bribery for supposedly receiving multimillion-peso bribes from NBP inmates involved in the illegal drug trade while she was justice secretary.
Minority lawmakers said a charge for violating Section 8 of RA 3019 or the Anti-graft and Corrupt Practices Act should also be filed against De Lima for allegedly granting special privileges to drug lords inside the NBP.
'Own agendas'
In an interview with reporters, De Lima said the minority bloc led by Suarez is not a "genuine" opposition group at the House of Representatives.
"Kunwari lang 'yan na mga opposition or minority with due respect to them. May mga sariling agenda rin 'yan and some of them are so passionate about vilifying me in the course of the House inquiry," De Lima said.
De Lima has repeatedly denied any involvement in the illegal drugs trade. She earlier described the House proceedings as a sham.  — with Kathrina Charmaine Alvarez/RSJ, GMA News

Duterte on Filipinos living in America: “Eh wala na ‘yun. Puro Amerikano na ‘yun…”

Narito ang sagot ni Pangulong Duterte sa tanong na “Paano naman ang mga Filipino sa Amerika?”

“Eh sabihin niya, there are many Filipinos there [America]. Eh wala na ‘yun. Puro Amerikano na ‘yun… ugali nun, pagkain nun…”
Matatandaang ang Pangulong Duterte ay nagpahayag ng “separation” of ties with the United States in terms of military and economic in favor to China noong unang official visit niya sa China kamakailan lamang.
“In this venue, your honours, in this venue, I announce my separation from the United States,” pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte sa isang forum sa China sa harap ng halos 300 Chinese businessmen na pinangunahan ni Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli.
“Both in military, not maybe social, but economics also. America has lost,” dagdag ni Duterte.
“… and to think he won here in the US. there are so many of these fil -ams who voted for him. now wala na sya pakialam sa kanila. eh di na Duterte talaga sila. hayy nako.” – Hazel Baticados
“Pres Duterte I respect and admire you pls be proud of all Filipinos in the USA they are investing and helping the economy.” – Leonor Cando Velarde
“So after Filipinos in the US supported him, now he disregards them? Biglang hindi na sila Filipino? Grabe he practically betrayed them!” – Gynn Flores

Leila de Lima is a threat to the Filipino people

Photo credits - PhilstarPhoto credits - Philstar

According to reports (link has been archived and is safe to click) Leila De Lima is once again asking the International Criminal Court to intervene in Philippine domestic affairs by investigating what she claims are “crimes against humanity” being committed by the Duterte administration.
In pressing her case, De Lima makes it appear as if Filipinos are being terrorized by the government, and that she is the only one who is not afraid to speak out against the President. She claims that the Duterte administration does not reflect the “real sentiments of the people,” and that there is even “some groundswell of support from ordinary people” for her cause.
While this clear misrepresentation of the sovereign will of the Filipino people would be laughable in ordinary circumstances, it becomes much more problematic because of the very real threat that the ICC may actually take De Lima’s words at face value.
If this happens, it will put the whole country – not just the President – at risk for economic sanctions. Which would be disastrous to the country’s economy, and the livelihood of Filipinos all over the world. This is something that all of us – not just the 80-plus percent who support Duterte – should be concerned about. We are all being held hostage by the delusions of a madwoman.
De Lima is deliberately undermining the government, of which she is part, by openly advocating foreign intervention. Because she knows that she has zero credibility among Filipinos she has pinned her hopes on the stupidity of other countries. In her act of supreme selfishness, De Lima is willing to throw the whole country under the bus just so she can save whatever face she has left.
De Lima’s attempts to involve the ICC, or any other foreign government, agency, or institution in our internal affairs is a massive betrayal of public trust, of treason of the highest order. Which again begs the question, where is Koko Pimentel?
