The fake Vice President Leni Robredo is again courting trouble by encouraging her allies in the House to file an impeachment case against President Rody Duterte, which now can be the basis of having her ousted through the same process.

The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) is now reviewing the statements of Robredo during her recent Biserbisyong Leni program where she discussed the impeachment process which she said the House minority should pursue even at the face of imminent defeat.
Robredo cited Rody’s acts related to the West Philippine Sea (WPS) dispute and the Recto Bank incident as bases for the impeach move.
PACC Commissioner Manuelito Luna said Robredo should be liable for impeachment after egging on the House Minority to file a complaint.
The reality of the impeachment proceeding is that which Robredo correctly stated which is a political process based on numbers in Congress meaning it will be easier to impeach her than Rody.
An impeachment case would have been filed against Robredo based on alleged betrayal of public trust after she came out with a video criticizing Duterte’s war on drugs before a United Nations assembly.
Impeaching Robredo requires the approval of at least one-third of the members of the House or about 98 of the current 292 congressmen.
The House supermajority has an estimated 266 members.
The Vice President avoided an impeachment then after Rody intervened, telling his allies to stop the ruckus since the time of Congress is better devoted to passing his pet bills.
Robredo is obviously playing politics with the call as she is more after the publicity that the impeachment complaint will generate rather than accountability.
She even dropped a hint of a repeat of the Estrada impeachment where the process was not completed after the EDSA 2 revolt was launched.
Robredo said in her television program that it is not for Congress to decide the impeachment of a public official but the Filipino people.
Of course, the Filipino people to her is the yellow mob who is plotting to oust Rody and not the more than 80 percent who backs Rody and his programs based on recent surveys.
Robredo’s spin on the WPS is also not worth the time of Congress since there was no surrender of sovereignty that happened.
The Constitution, however, provided that the Philippines “renounces war as an instrument of national policy” which Rody follows to resort to diplomatic means in dealing with the sea row.
The calibrated responses is opposed to aggressively enforcing the favorable arbitral award as being demanded by Robredo and her ilk.
Rody had warned an armed conflict that could escalate into continuing bloody encounters detrimental to the national interest may happen if he goes with Robredo’s demand.
Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, in line with the Robredo demand, pressed Rody to defend the exclusive economic zone after the Chief Executive bared that he has made a verbal deal with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The critics of Rody has a single-minded aim of drumming up public support for his eventual ouster which was the goal since he assumed the presidency through an overwhelming victory in 2016.
The yellow horde backed by the Church and the Makati elites resented a President who did not fit their bigoted standards.
Rody, however, turned out to be what predominant Filipinos have been waiting for to lead the country.
Leni and the yellow mob, thus, are in a panic mode and are resorting to whatever means to pull down the President.
