It is true that Senator Manny Pacquiao is not eloquent and his critics like to portray him as dumb; however, Manny has managed to spring many surprises that have made him gain converts and admirers.
It is his street-smart cunning which allows him to read people like a book. When Manny starts asking questions, it is almost like he is in a boxing ring. He throws jabs and sets up his opponent for a knockout punch. And a knockout punch is what Lascañas got from Manny Pacquiao.
Arturo Lascañas may have gone to law school but he wasn't ready to get hit by Manny's question which was his "coup de grâce". It was the same type of punch that made De Lima's lover, Ronnie Dayan scamper for words to answer Manny's questions during a senate hearing.
