According to the United Kingdom’s Food Standards Agency, rinsing raw chicken before cooking it can effectively distribute infection around your kitchen in the form of water droplets.
“The call comes as new figures show that 44% of people always wash chicken before cooking it– a practice that can spread campylobacter bacteria onto hands, work surfaces, clothing and cooking equipment through the splashing of water droplets.”

Campylobacter is the most common cause of food poisoning, especially in UK, which can cause death as well as serious health problems. Health officials from Food Standards Agency claim that Campylobacter is spread by splashes and droplets of water caused during cleaning. These droplets may land on to human skin, clothing and cooking material. Also they assure that the heat is enough to kill these bacteria so washing them is unnecessary.
