Photographer Was Arrested For Filming Leni Robredo Crying When She Wasn’t Invited In The ASEAN Summit

The family of Jasmine Mendez, the 24 year old amateur photographer from Taguig, already asked the help of Erwin Tulfo to ask Naga City police to release their daughter, who has been detained since November 11.

Mendez, together with her friends, went on to take pictures at Mayon volcano last week and visited some tourist locations around Bicol, including Naga City and Camarines Sur.

The group stayed in Naga for two days renting a transient apartment. Coincidentally, the apartment they took was facing the house of Vice President Leni Robredo.

It was Saturday morning when Mendez who was looking for something to shoot from her apartment’s terrace when she spotted the vice president sobbing inside her room.

The amateur photographer used her long-range telephoto lens and captured the vice president crying for some reason.

Mendez posted the raw video on her Facebook account that went viral until Sunday morning before she and her friends were arrested at their Naga City apartment, just across the house of Mrs. Robredo.

Mendez father, an accountant working for SGV said the police did not give them details why their daughter is still in their custody for almost a week already.

“We only follow orders”, the police said when Tulfo called the Naga police.

On his “Aksyon sa Radyo” program, Erwin Tulfo called the office of PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa and her secretary told him that the chief may not have the information about the incident.

Tulfo then called the Camarines Sur provincial police and they found out that the release order was already processed the day after the incident happened, but the officers on duty mistakenly shelved the order to release Mendez.

Mendez is scheduled to be released on Saturday and is planning to file charges against the people, especially those who close to Robredo, who detained her for some ridiculous reasons.

Robredo was seen crying inside her house after being sidelined at Asean summit.

The office of the vice president allegedly offered Mendez to buy the exclusive rights of the photos and video but Mendez refused, and she eventually landed inside the detention facility.
