Destroying one’s own government – A highest form of Treachery

By Jun Avelino

The late President Manuel L. Quezon once said “I would rather have a country run like hell by Filipinos than a country run like heaven by the Americans, because however a bad Filipino government might be, we can always change it.”

If Quezon is still alive today, he would have slapped a hundred times his adopted grandson, Manuel “Manolo” Quezon III for peddling lies about his country with his articles in Washington Post paper, attacking the Duterte Government back home a number of times. This Sanamagan thinks that by winning Americans sympathy, he and his former masters in Malacanang will have the chance to win back power again once Duterte is removed. He conveniently forgets that doing so is tantamount to surrendering our sovereignty for which his grandfather and our heroic ancestors had once resisted shedding their precious blood and lives so we become a free country. Truly, he is a disgrace to the noble name he represents. What an idiot!

Quezon would have kicked the butt of Senator Antonio Trillanes for going to America to ask for help from the US Government in stopping Duterte’s drug war program and to remove him from the Presidency for implementing his Independent Foreign Policy thereby befriending China and Russia at the expense of RP-US ties. This moron’s act clearly desecrates the hallowed sacrifices of our ancestors who died fighting for our country’s independence from America in exchange for him slurping such juicy ass of Uncle Sam again.

Quezon would have scolded Congressman Alejano for filing a case against the Duterte government before the International Criminal Court (ICC) which is essentially an act of putting this country to the whims of an international body. Truly, this act smacks of cowardice and a treacherous way of a Filipino soldier fighting his own government from abroad. And yet, he calls himself a revolutionary soldier like Trillanes. What a shame for both!

Quezon would have berated VP Robredo and CHR for shaming our country before a UN body with all the malicious lies embedded on that infamous video scandal, thereby painting a horrible image for this country abroad. Such is an act of betrayal on her mandate as an elected official with a duty to protect the integrity of the government for which she is part of, rather than destroying it. Traitor – no less!

Quezon would have whacked the EU representatives, the UN, the Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International for sowing intrigues in our country as well as abroad with the evil intent of polarizing the Filipinos and in dissuading them from supporting the duly elected Duterte government. This is the highest form foreign intervention which every Filipino should resist and condemn.

Quezon would have reminded the yellows, the reds and all anti Dutertards that there is no tag price to our country’s sovereignty. In running our own affairs as an independent country, the clash between the majority and the minority is expected which is part of the essence of the democratic space that we enjoy today. Fighting fiercely against each other is a normal process in ensuring better governance for this country and in fact, dissent should be given enough room to thrive for check and balance. This is the Filipino democratic way of governance – a monumental symbol of the freedom we now enjoy as a fruit of the heroic blood and lives of our ancestors, like Quezon.

Now if you start running abroad after losing in an elections to connive with other countries to fight your own government just because you cannot win the sympathy and support of the Filipino people who resist foreign intervention, then you just reduced yourselves to the status of being the enemy of your own country - a traitor who deserves the Filipino people’s wrath and condemnation.

Then Quezon would have told you on your face “You’re such a fuckin’ idiotic moron undeserving of being called a Filipino – Get off this land!” – JA
