Seeing fish go around in circles may look cute or “amazing”, but it’s nothing but a “Big Pile of Stupid.” These fish are going around in circles because for some weird reason, the “school” decided they’d follow other fish, forgetting that the fish they were following are actually at the rear of the same school. Everyone’s following everyone else, and in the end, you’ve got an endless loop. How do you get them out of it? Throw a rock to break the chain? Throw in some crumbs to get them out of it?
This situation is not too different from the Philippine Intelligentsia, the Philippine mainstream bloggers’ community, the Philippine opinion-makers’ scene.
You have nitwits like Manuel L. Quezon III who follows Abe Margallo who follows Conrado de Quiros, who follows Ellen Tordesillas who follows Harvey Keh, who follows Jim Paredes, who follows Argee Guevarra, who follows Fr. Robert Reyes, who follows Manuel L. Quezon III. Paikot-ikot lang!
Now, Manuel L. Quezon III is an official of the Abnoy administration, Harvey Keh was named as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men, Jim Paredes was considered for Secretary of Tourism and is made to host most of Abnoy’s events, and even Conrado de Quiros’ own brother was given a position in a GOCC by Abnoy himself.
Any fresh new ideas? None.
Any good ideas? None.
Any progress made? None.
Same in-bred ideas, same regurgitated rhetoric and same tired old arguments. No wonder the Philippines is so screwed up: Its own intelligentsia and supposedly educated Pinoys are not only genetically in-bred, their ideas are screwed up, unimaginative, and they’re all unable to think outside of the box!
No different from clueless goldfish going around in an endless vicious circle.
