How Your Body Reacts To Drinking Red Bull (You Will Never Drink This Again After Reading This)
Once you find out what Red Bull energy drinks can do to your body, you’ll never touch one again. These types of energy drinks are commonly used to help boost energy in the afternoon or even students use them to pull all-nighters for studying. Red Bull is just one of these popular brands and has been shown to increase the possibility of a heart attack or stroke.
What Red Bull Does Really…
Blood can become sticky and cause strokes or a variety of othercardiovascular issues when you consume energy drinks. After just an hour after drinking a Red Bull will give you a system that is so abnormal that it’s comparable to that of someone with cardiovascular diseases.
Red Bull simply states their drink is just like drinking a cup of coffee or soda. While you might have the same effects like you would with caffeine, the reaction speed increases and energy comes from the sugar and artificial sweeteners.
However, while people have a general idea of what coffee does to the body, no one is really sure what exactly is going on when all of the other active ingredients in Red Bull react with caffeine and what it does internally.
Energy drinks are primarily composed of aspartame. This ingredient alone acts has properties that are fetal, allergenic, metabolic, neurotoxic, and carcinogenic. When you add this to the effects similar to when you have a crash and experience lethargy like you do shortly after having a soda, you’ll soon become addicted and crave these dangerous energy drinks throughout the day.
Energy Drinks are Banned in Other Countries
Approximately 3.5 billion cans of Red Bull energy drink was sold in 143 countries in 2014. However, people keep questioning the safety of it and other energy drinks. These energy-seeking addicts can die. Unfortunately, energy drink sales have also outnumbered the sale of bottled water.
Since energy drinks can be found in almost any supermarket, especially in an increased rate over the most recent years, instead, some countries have decided they aren’t going to allow consumers to be susceptible to the dangerous effects energy drinks may have.
Health risks of Red Bull have all been identified in Uruguay, Denmark, and Norway. These countries have all banned it. It is considered illegal for anyone under 16 years old to have Red Bull in Kuwait. This comes after two players of the national squash team had fatal heart attacks after consuming energy drinks.
People Who Are at Highest Risk
Impaired blood vessel functioning and an increased risk of blood clots are just two possible effects from drinking energy drinks. If you suffer from blood clotting disorders, caffeine sensitivity, cardiovasculardisease, hypertension, chronic fatigue syndrome, high stress or anxiety, you are at high risk for strokes. Any woman who is pregnant or lactating must avoid these drinks.
Instead, Improve Energy the Natural Way
Simply eating right can help boost energy. Increase the consumption of foods that have omega-3 fats in them. Eliminating sugars and grains in your diet can also have longer lasting positive impacts on energy levels. Try to manage your stress level and start exercising regularly. This will help you to kick dangerous energy drinks to the curb.

Unbelievable: A Vegetable That Treats Diabetes, Depression, Kidney Disease, and Cancer!
Elisha Odhiambo
Okra, otherwise called lady’s finger or Hibiscus esculentus, is a flowering plant normally grown for its stingy fruits. It is rich in folate, vitamin C, and antioxidants, making it one of the most medicinal vegetables.
This article explores some research findings that have revealed the amazing healing properties of this powerful vegetables.
THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF OKRA:
1. KIDNEYS
According to the findings of a 2005 study published in Jilin Medical Journey, okra is effective in the treatment of nephropathy or kidney disease. Two groups were involved in the study, where one group was treated with okra, and the other one treated with traditional medical therapy for half a year. The results showed a decrease in urine protein and uric acid in those individuals treated with okra, whereas there were no improvements in individuals treated with a traditional therapy.
2. LIVER
A 2011 study published by Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal revealed that okra has the potential to protect against liver disease, thanks to its strong antioxidant properties.
3. DIABETES
According to the findings of a rat study, published in the Journal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences, okra extracts can lower the blood sugar levels, which is highly beneficial in the fight against diabetes.
4. CANCER
According to another study, a type of lectin called Abelmoschus esculentus (AEL) has been found to cause cell death in breast cancer cells, in vitro – 72% to be precise. However, these tests are still in preliminary stages.

President Rodrigo Duterte is Leila de Lima’s and the Liberal Party’s worst nightmare
August 19, 2016
by Ilda

There’s a slugfest going on in the Philippines between President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Leila De Lima. After Duterte exposed De Lima’s alleged affair with her personal driver, De Lima went on to counter it by saying the President is engaging in character assassination. Her supporters were equally shocked and outraged that Duterte would resort to a “low blow”. After all, it’s none of our business what the Senator does during her private time as long as she is not breaking any law. And besides, it’s not like Duterte does not engage in a little hanky-panky on the side. In fact, he admits to having a number of girlfriends so what’s his problem, right?
I personally do not care about De Lima’s love life. In fact, news of her alleged affair with her driver is old news. It’s an open secret among Netizens. There’s even an alleged sex video that has been making the rounds all over the Net for ages. I think people share the link but don’t bother to view it for fear of what they might see. I’ve since always thought De Lima was cool with people knowing about it. What’s odd is why De Lima now acts shocked about the revelation but at the same time still does not categorically deny if the allegations are true.
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t condone personal attacks. I have been against it for six years when former President BS Aquino was doing it to his enemies. Perhaps half a decade of exposure to BS Aquino persecuting his enemies like former President Gloria Arroyo even when she was sick has desensitised me, which is why I don’t feel shocked anymore now that Duterte is doing it. What I am trying to say is, naming and shaming had already long been a tradition of BS Aquino’s former administration. The exercise is not new. De Lima usually echoed what BS Aquino said in the past. She became some sort of an attack dog of the Liberal Party particularly since she was the Department of Justice Secretary.
We recall that in her effort to please BS Aquino, De Lima defied the temporary restraining order issued by the Supreme Court in 2011 and proceeded to bar Arroyo from leaving the country. It’s still a mystery why she has not been disbarred for her actions. We also recall how she became a witness against the late former Chief Justice Renato Corona during his impeachment trial. At the witness stand, even when she struggled to justify why she thought Corona was corrupt in favouring rulings for respondents in some cases, she continued to act like her statements were factual. It was so apparent that she was relying on mere gut feel. She has this habit of issuing statements condemning the object of her attention even when there is no evidence to back her claims. And that is precisely why Duterte got fed up with her.
De Lima already has a history of speaking against Duterte when he was still Davao City Mayor but De Lima has been issuing statements lately against the Duterte administration’s war on drugs and making the members of the Philippine National Police look like the bad guys. The Senate investigation on extra-judicial killings hasn’t even started but she had already been speaking before the media and painting a doom and gloom scenario and making it look as if the police are responsible for the spate of killings. Duterte feels that her statements are not good for the image of the police who are already suffering from negative publicity. The bottom-line is, for all of De Lima’s incessant yakking, concrete evidence to prove that the police are abusing their power has yet to be presented.
De Lima seems to have this personal vendetta against Duterte and in her quest to pin him down, she is inadvertently pinning down the rest of the police force too. It’s quite bizarre that she would do that considering she used to work closely with the police during her stint in the Department of Justice. Some say that she is like a loose cannon.
What I don’t understand is why the outrage of some members of so-called “civil society” is six years late in coming. I do understand that they hate the way Duterte is dealing with De Lima because he is not following “due process”. But where was their outrage when BS Aquino was doing the same thing to his political enemies? It is very hypocritical of them to call out Duterte now when the previous President was guilty of doing the exact same thing. They say what BS Aquino did was not the same because he did not divulge private information about Arroyo’s sex life. Well, it’s probably because he had nothing to expose when it came to Arroyo’s sex life. But the point is, BS Aquino ruined Arroyo’s reputation in the Philippines and abroad when he relentlessly bashed her at every opportunity especially when he had speaking engagements abroad. As a result, a lot of people still think she is guilty of all the allegations he threw at her despite the not being found guilty by the courts.
While I do not condone Duterte’s naming and shaming, I think people are forgetting that BS Aquino’s behaviour during his term set a precedent for what we are seeing now. Rabid supporters are just not used to seeing members of the Liberal Party being on the receiving end of Duterte’s jabs. Duterte has become their worst nightmare. Now they are playing the victim card and using the “woman” angle too. It’s not fair to use gender as a defence against your opponent. Whether you are a man or a woman, if you are doing something wrong, it needs to be exposed.
It’s a bit of an exaggeration for some to think that Duterte is just doing this to stop De Lima from investigating those so-called extra-judicial killings. He may have been unfair in exposing De Lima’s affair with her driver but if the other allegation is true – that her driver also serves as a gofer between her and some drug lords, then their relationship could be a vital piece of information needed to solve the puzzle. Let’s just hope that Duterte knows what he is doing. Otherwise, this is another episode that will erode the moral fibre of Philippine society. It could be the straw that breaks the proverbial camel’s back.
For her part, De Lima should own up to the truth and admit the parts that are true. Denying anything at this point is useless because the truth has a way of coming out especially for people who had been careless during their heydays.

Filipinos should junk the 1986 People Power narrative in order to TRULY progress
August 18, 2016
by benign0

It’s time Filipinos pause, step back, take stock, and ask: What is really going on here? If one would attempt to answer that question using the commonframe of mind with which Filipinos have coocooned themselves within, the responses would be unsurprising, quite trite, and peppered with certain key words prevalent in mainstream discourse today:
“extrajudicial killing”
“immorality”
“corruption”
“fraud”
“injustice”
The above constitute, perhaps, at least 80 percent of fodder used in the content fired by mainstream media into the screens of its hapless Filipino audience. They attract eyeballs, ellicit chatter, and their advertisers and under-the-table patrons go off laughing all the way to the bank. That’s just the private sector media business at work. Just business.
The challenge, then, is to step further back and ask: What have Filipinosreally achieved over the last 30 years since democracy was “restored” following the 1986 people power “revolution”?
The default narrative overwhelmingly revolves around negation of negatives: expose corruption, recover ill-gotten wealth, correct injustice, reduce poverty. Imagine, for a minute a development scale ranging from -1 (most underdeveloped) to +1 (fully-developed). Then let’s suppose (by invoking a bigger stretch of our imagination), for argument’s sake, that all of the above purported achievements actually did materialise over those several decades. These achievements will only have served to raise the Philippines’ level of development from -1 to 0; i.e. corruption is eliminated, all stolen moneys have been clawed back, all is just and fair, and poverty had been scaled back.
The Philippines, in this thought experiement, having achieved those promises of the EDSA “people power” narrative will only have become just another society that meets the minimum requirements for common decency.
That kind of latching on to mediocre aspirations — to simply be a “decent” society — was not at all the winning attitude applied by countries like Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and, recently, Vietnam to their development efforts that catapulted them to the stratospheric star status Filipinos can only wistfully admire today. Columnist Peter Wallace articulates the relative mediocrity of the Philippines’ aspirations in this context in his latest Inquirer piece which cites the comparatively stellar achievements of once war-torn and still authoritarian Vietnam…
[…] Vietnam, like China, has been clear-minded about the direction it must take. Perhaps most important has been a focus on education. Vietnamese 15-year-olds do as well in math and sciences as their German peers. Vietnam spends more on schools than most countries at a similar level of development, and focuses on the basics: boosting enrollment and training teachers. The investment is pivotal to making the most of trade opportunities. Factories may be more automated, but the machines still need operators. Workers must be literate, numerate and able to handle complex instructions. Vietnam is producing the right skills. Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia lag behind, despite being wealthier.“But Vietnam’s past quarter-century means that it has a decent chance of prevailing. It is at last starting on SOE reform. It is negotiating trade deals in Asia and with Europe. And it is drafting plans to increase its domestic share of manufacturing without scaring off foreigners. Vietnam is a model for countries trying to get a foot on the development ladder. With luck, it will also become a model for those trying to climb up it.”The message to the Philippine government out of this is that the slow, cautious reforms haven’t worked. Fast, dramatic change is what’s needed. President Duterte has promised it, but can he overcome the entrenched bureaucracy? Government underspending in the past few years, for instance, has been attributed to bureaucratic inefficiencies. It’s time to cut the red tape and ensure more efficient spending of government funds, especially those allotted for infrastructure projects.
The Vietnam profile, above, highlights a focus not just on uplifting itself from -1 to 0. Vietnam’s goal is to go past zero and go for 1. In stark contrast, the Philippines is stuck on a loser aspiration to merely get to zero. And, by all accounts, it seems to be failing at attaining even that mediocre goal.
We see it in the “issues” that even the most intelligent, most well-connected, most influential Filipinos busy themselves with today — the blowing out of proportion of human collateral damage in a national “war on drugs”, the “immorality” in the private life of a Philippine Senator, the supposed decline of “human rights” as a priority in Philippine governance, and all the shrill outpouring of “outrage” over some imagined fallout arising from the current administration choosing to do things a different way.
Now, finally, step back to as high a vantage point as you can and see now how all that fills the Philippine national “debate” pales when one regards the things prioritised by the truly emerging East Asian powers such as Vietnam. In that context Filipinos come across as quite pathetic. There is nothing in the topics that occupy the meagre brain space of the national discourse that contributes to or alines with an aspiration to be an excellent nation byabsolute standards. Nothing.
Outrage over Leni Robredo's fraudulent Vice Presidency prevails among ordinary Filipinos!
To those who say Leni Robredo is the legally recognized VP, please think about this — legally recognized by whom? By the yellow officials who installed her through illicit means? By the dwindling band of yellow fanatics who turned up at Luneta last weekend? Go out to the streets. Talk to the jeepney drivers, taxi drivers, vendors, commuters, etc. Talk to the real people expressing their disgust and disbelief in forums, facebook, etc. The outrage is everywhere, expressed several times a day, everyday, in the Philippines and among the OFWs. Robredo can be sworn in a thousand times by Drilon and Belmonte, declared "winner" a million times by Andres Bautista, "legalized" a billion times by Sereno, and congratulated a trillion times by the US and other ambassadors, but majority of the Filipino people STILL won't believe she's legit.
Also, think about this: had Escudero or Cayetano been declared winner for VP, do you think there would be this kind of outrage? No. Not even from Marcos loyalists. People would be okay with it. Why? Because this is not about the Marcoses. It's about THE CHEATING. The cheating that was done to install a fake VP so that Plan B vs Duterte could be put into action.
Now, was Robredo an innocent pawn in all this? At first, I thought she was. I thought she was just a clueless neophyte probinsyana politico who got plucked out of nowhere because the LP needed someone who could be packaged into a pseudo-Grace Poe after Poe refused to run for VP under LP. But look at Robredo now, how she keeps dismissing all the election anomalies like they were nothing. Like it doesn't matter that there was a fourth server that no one knew about. Like it doesn't matter that she got way more than 50% of the votes in places where most people had never heard of her just 3-4 months before the election. If she was a true selfless, honorable person who cared about the greater good of the Filipino nation, she would be lobbying for an audit as much as the Marcos camp.
This is beyond Marcos and Robredo. The integrity of our electoral process is at stake here. Plus, nakakahiya di ba, para sa taong may hiya, to occupy a position that you may not actually be entitled to, especially with all the irregularities that have come out. But no. Robredo is totally caught up in her newfound fame, strutting around in fancy clothes and holding press conferences right and left with an official seal and Philippine flag like she is more important than the president himself. She even looks different from how she looked two months ago. Her hair and face look like they've been lightened. She looks more and more like Vicki Belo everyday because of the makeup and hair. I suppose this is what happens when a person who is nothing more than a media creation spends too much time with socialites, preening for the cameras.
It is so ironic, because the real socialite, Gina Lopez, the one who doesn't even have to try, is just in jeans most of the time and has been working much harder than Robredo, and has delivered far better results. Also, Gina Lopez, whose father directly suffered under Marcos, has done the proper thing as a Cabinet member and kept silent about the burial (non)-issue because, whether we agree with it or not, this is the president's prerogative and it has basis in law and all the people who voted for Duterte already knew that he was willing to bury Marcos in LNB when they voted for him.
There you go. I would like you to know that I normally do not comment on blogs and articles like this. But, just like many others, Robredo's fakery has disgusted me to a point where I feel like I'm going to burst if I don't say something.
